Recommend Apple Care.

We had a pair start to disconnect like crazy, and without Apple Care, it took almost 2 months and 3 trips to the store to resolve. They don't have good diagnostic software for these. They shipped mine to a "depot" twice and they said they were working fine.

My eventual replacement set worked great, but it took some major complaining to finally get them to do it. If I'd had Apple Care, I guess they just replace them no questions asked.

I was told by a Costco employee that Airpods don't fall under the same 90-day return policy as other electronics/Apple items, you would be able to just return them.

So you are saying that what you heard is that this item is like regular Costco returns and can be brought back almost indefinitely?

If so, that is amazing. All electronics used to be like that until a few years back when they switched to the 90 day policy for electronics and major appliances.

I hate these compared to gen 2.

Often after taking these out of my ears my phone plays another 2 seconds of sometimes offensive music on the speaker.

Other times my phone says they are paired but nothing will play from them. I have to cycle Bluetooth on the phone to work again.

This is correct. These don't fall under the 90 day return period. Neither do Airpod Max's, Costco is the only place I buy these things.

Can someone chime in on the fit for these? Are they similar to the 2nd Gen ones? I love the fit of the old ones.

I got the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen, but gave them away because they don't fit my ears correctly and hurt like hell. I tried for a couple of weeks too. Plus, I don't need the noise cancellation either.

I also had the Pro 2nd Gen and sold them, grabbed a pair of these, to me these are more practical put them in and turn them till the stem points towards my chin, I don't use them while exercising or doing yard work, but for moving around at work picking up boxes, pallets etc I rarely have to adjust. I was only ever comfortable with the Pro 2nd gen while sitting or barely moving, these I don't care since the sound is not dependent on a seal.
