While this is a good price, these are cheap for a reason.

Figure the batteries haven't been refreshed either.

I can't really see a difference between the Gen 3 and Gen 5 listed. Based on the benchmark test: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...77vsm54474

The Gen 3 has a faster CPU and is cheaper at $69. Was Gen 5 not upgraded?

Hmm, Raspberry Pi's are hard to find. This looks like a better deal when compared to Pi prices these days. You're practically getting a display for free. Unsure about the power use though, Pi's seem more efficient when you consider energy prices.

Edit: I think I found my answer -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbs1LCJErKI 20-30ish FPS on Roblox

And after the cost of that could have bought a better machine.

Bought several super cheap notebooks like these over the years. Finally learned my lesson wth these very limited spec machines. The frustrating glacial pace involved with anything halfway demanding is not worth the cost savings.

If he is expecting a functional machine bear in mind, as very low power Windows OS machine this is not a Chromebook and will struggle with many Windows programs and browsing tasks.

Just install ChromeOS flex. Problem solved. I just ordered one and plan to do that

Those are killer specs for this price. Though not for a good user experience.
