In for one. Will toss it in the back off truck for emergency. Hopefully don't have to use it.

I just can't imagine the usecase when a no-name brand no-name seller unknown quality TOW HARDWARE is the right choice.

This is the company you buy cheap wire connectors from. If those fail, you redo it. If this fails, huge property loss maybe major injuries.

Promoted by paid SD Staff Influencers is rarely the endorsement i look for when it comes to safety equipment

I have the recovery strap, the quality is actually really good.

I totally agree plus harbor freight has similar one that goes on sale frequently around the same price.. I'd trust that.

Yeah sure I'm gonna put cheap Amazon garbage on my truck so it would fail on the first try

So which alternative product at a decent price point would you put your name and endorsement behind then?

The answer is none. They wouldn't put any of this stuff in theory on their hypothetical truck.

That's odd because 99% of your comments are complaining about SD staff posts. That appears to be exactly what you "look for" during a majority of your day.

BTW, this is clearly decoration not actual towing / recovery equipment. Much like those Jeep owners who have 2 Jerry cans and a offroad jack on a vehicle that has never made it on to a gravel driveway because it might get the underbelly dusty.

If all you do is complain about the water....why do you spend all day in the pool?

I feel like sarcasmogratis could solve this (imaginary) SD probably of theirs by deleting the bookmark to the page and never returning. Would improve their life and the life of everyone else who still visits SlickDeals.

I own one of these and have used it in the winter to pull vehicles out. Works just fine.

Haven't used one of these for a few days now. All in all the critical parts actually look pretty good. Might replace the pin and cotter pin but that's it. Quality looks comparable to my Smitty shackle.
Only real way to know is to send it for some metallurgical testing... Guessing those complaining have already done that but don't want to share their results.
Yes, I have been wheeling for 30 years, ain't my first rodeo...

I got shackles from them when there was a code. I was impressed by the quality. I just used one the other day to lift a 1000# sack of chicken feed off my trailer and it worked great. Used it to chain up trees to my backhoe many times.
I'm going to grab one of these for a spare d ring
