I saw it in person and didn't think it was that good of a bag. The side handle/strap was hard plastic and it looked like corners were cut in making the bags.

I like having the external pockets and I don't travel much and when I do I'm rarely in rain or are harsh on my bags.
What's the main appeal of hard shell rain protection and durability?

Doing a lot of travel these days, I would never take give my clothes to any baggage attendant unless it was polycarbonate. Mine had been dropped, kicked, sat on, thrown into and out of an airplane, dragged at high speed behind a motorized wheelchair for miles, and still works perfectly. Weaknesses on any luggage are zippers, wheels, handles, and locks, but with fabric you risk tears, weather, water leaks, stains, fails on the outer pockets, crush damage, and the things that I can't think about.

I own the Samsonite PCB XLR, and I highly recommend any PCB with a solid wheel design, stay far away from any luggage that has a split wheel design on the bottom.

Bought them for $170 in 2018. Seems like they are coming back to pre covid price.

I bought a hard plastic suitcase and after its first trip to Mexico the bag was scuffed to sh!t. It's Nautica branded (from Macys) and it looked great in the store but now it's either in storage or I gave it away.

Got one of these back in Oct for $180. Really like the stacking feature, makes getting around the airport and trains very easy. The handle on the check-in extends higher than hard shell version.

The zipper did break though so exchanged it for a new one and saved $10 because this sale was going on.

I had these. Horrible quality. You will see damage after 1 trip. Had to return.
