There are system calclators online, that will tell you what PSU/CPU you can use. I have an i7-8700k. 6800xt/3070ti was as high as I could go without the cpu bottle necking it. I decided to just buy a used 3070ti which I found for $359, rather than rebuild my whole system. The system works fantastic, and I have absolutely no need for a faster computer and couldnt justify spending $1200 or more just to play video games with some extra fps. Hardware seems to be outpacing softwares need for more power tech. I used my 970 right up to a couple weeks ago with no issues. I dont play competitive FPS games, so 30+ FPS is fine for me.
Thanks i am exactly same. 3070ti for 359 seems to be a good deal. Did you get a new one? I ordered 6750xt new at $370 6950xt could be overkill and did not want to worry about cpu or power bottlenecking

This is great. I never consider the bottleneck issue. I only have Ryzen 5 3600 so 6950XT is overkill.
the only thing it really has is newer faster ram... thats about it / binning chips for it ?? from my understanding the chips used in the 6800 - 6900 series all had high yields which is why you normally never found 6800's as they were the most cut down
This card isn't good for video games. you need the latest technology like DLSS for today's games
dlss is a gimmick. The game developers need to train and generate "images" of a larger resolution, then integrate it into the game..most games don't have it and it's not as adaptable as fsr and super resolution

Time to look for cheaper cards
Skip to about 6:47 minute mark.
7700X 5.4ghz/7900XTX + OC + SAM on
4K Extreme
Average - 132 FPS/1% low 65 FPS
7900XT - 110/53
4080 - 96/52
COD loves RDNA, so with FSR and/or competitive settings any higher end Radeon GPUs would get there with ease.

the 6950 just has faster newer ram than the 6900
Good luck with that.
