I've had this card in my Amazon cart for a while now and it's been at the $650 price for weeks so this really isn't a new deal. I've been waiting on it to get to at least $600 in price before deciding to pull the trigger...
At 1080 resolution the card is faster than a 3090TI in a lot of games, at 4K the 3090 in some games is better than the 6950 but the two flip flop a lot depending on optimization. Overall for the price this is a great deal if you dont need or want ray tracing.
I think prices in general are dropping cause of inventory finally being stagnate and also economy not doing well so prices keep dropping.
Welcome, also forgot to mention when it came to graphics cards XFX and EVGA probably make some of the best quality cards on the market. XFX makes such good cards they were the last companies to drop their lifetime warranties, years after all the other companies already did. So if you really want an AMD card the XFX is probably one of the best choices for build quality and performance you can get from my experience. I miss that they stopped making Nvidia cards.
Hmm is this as good of a deal as it feels to me? I'm an amateur.

What do you think for 3440x1440 ultrawide, 75hz monitor? Overkill?

I think for the price, this is a no brainer as long as you dont care about the ray tracing. The cheapest a 3090TI ever been on major sale I believe was around $1200 compared to their normal $1800-2K MSRP. So for the few games that the 3090TI is better you will never get a return on the amount you spent to get those extra 10-20 frames. At 1440 both these cards were very neck and neck in most benchmarks, with the major flip flops at the 4k resolution in which the 3090TI was better more often.

xfx is a good brand but the rx 5000 series had issue problems where it would reboot computer automatically. i think it was because xfx went max on power draw and when people were gaming, systems would shut down dt the over limit max draw.
