IN STORE ONLY. PRICE NOT REFLECTED ONLINE. YMMV.

HD in MA (appears to be nationwide after spot checking on Brickseek) is clearing out all the original Rust Oleum "Stops Rust" (not the Painters Touch 2x) spray paints for $3.50 down from $6.98. Looks like all colors except black and white are on clearance. They have tons of black and white so maybe once the inventory reduces on those they'll mark them down too.

A few of the specialty ones were on clearance too (mailbox paint, metallic, flake, etc).

Looks like they are cutting in Glidden to replace it maybe but not positive.

The store I was in, most of the neutral colors were gone (like brown) but they had lots of red, orange, and some others.

Home depot link for reference only, store price will not show here.

Brickseek URL for one color - just use it to see if your store says "clearance" - most likely if this one shows clearance they all (except black and white) will be marked down. Obviously you can grab the internet # for the color you're interested in off their site and substitute it at brickseek.

I just bought the almond color last night. For me it rang up full price so it would be good to take a picture of the shelf price tag before you get to the register so they can adjust it

FWIW if you're hoping to use Rustoleum for auto use realize that it won't last that long nor offer good rust protection, especially if applied to underbody parts. I found this out the hard way and switched to POR-15. And forget about rust reformer or conversion products. They don't work on anything but the most superficial surface rust.

I would suggest rust reformers if you're willing to sand/wirebursh off the majority of rust down to bare metal. Though you'll have to treat it like a primer, then coat with something like Blaster Surface Sheild. You'll need to reapply the Blaster every couple of years, but makes for a good chance to do a visual inspection. At least that's been my go-to method, my truck is a 2007 with 210k miles with very little rust.

Their underbody coating works well, at least in my experience.

Thing is, if you're not able or willing to get down to bare metal, the rust reformer will be of little use unless there's just surface rust as it can't reform encapsulated or pitted rust, and if you are able and willing, reformer is of no use and you're best off treating with phosphoric acid then priming and painting. It only really works and makes sense in very specific situations. I found this out the hard way as this is generally just a short cut that doesn't last and could actually make things worse.

But only if you first remove and treat any rust then prime and paint and only then apply undercoating.

You don't need to prime and paint before undercoating. Using it over rust is not ideal but it will significantly slow the progress as long as you can get it all covered completely. Better than nothing. Obviously if you're buying rattle cans of undercoating and doing it yourself you're looking for a quick fix and hopefully are aware it is not a lifetime fix, nor a professional one.

I will hit weld spots on the frames of my trucks and rust never comes back in those spots, and being starved of oxygen will help prevent it from eating into the frame.

Again we're talking about clearance rattle cans, nobody is going to be putting in that kind of work

You absolutely need to derust, clean, treat, prime and paint before undercoating with rubberized spray if you want to get it right. Otherwise you're just covering up rust and actually making things worse by encapsulating it and allowing it to spread unseen as soon as a chip develops, which it will. This is the opposite of protecting metal from rust and an illusory solution to rust. Not better than nothing, worse than nothing. Anyone who can' be bothered to do it right should just spray with fluid film each year.
