But it's not "pretty much the same car", when compared to Tesla. But everyone can have their own opinion.
And why 100% cash, that's good enough time to get approved from Tesla finance and then re finance later
It's not.
It is, for ONE specific trim of the Model 3, being reduced to $3750 because the rules for qualification changed a bit.
For all other versions of Model 3- and all versions of Model Y- it remains at $7500.
Note many OTHER evs are losing at least $3750 (or all $7500 in some cases)--- the Mustang Mach E for example loses it across all versions of the vehicle.

They just reduced some battery packs and created another option for $49,990.

Tesla is not the best car, but definitely decent EV. If you want to get a Mach-E/Ioniq5/EV6/ID4..., once you get to the trims that are equivalent to what Tesla offers, the price might be even higher. And you will have to deal with the car dealers who will ruin your excitement of getting a new car (and scam you lots of $$ if you are not careful).
I dont even think they are advertising the hybrid that high.

I guess there are probably use cases for the delta between a 9.2 second 4DR sedan and a 14.0 second 4DR sedan, but I'm not sure whether any of them apply to many people.
All other versions of the Model 3 are still expected to retain the full $7500 credit, as their batteries are made in Nevada.
It's that battery they use for the base model. (LFP I think?) It's from china

I started looking at the Tesla Y because it seems like a better value vs an MSRP X5. Im not a fan of the Y's interior options. That, not $, is what holds me back. Also, unfortunately, the avg car costs $40-50K now out the door. $50K doesn't get you luxury anymore. Maybe near-luxury, but certainly the Model Y isn't luxurious like a Model S or X.
Why people keep saying 50k is avg price for a car, my prius prime was 32K. Here are some other cars you can buy for 32k that are reliable, great on gas, cheap to insure and wont take 30 mins to charge.
