Thanks, order a Model Y LR. With the $7500 rebate and the California rebate, it is a good deal.

Why would one buy a car with the finance now and then refinance later mentality? There is no guarantee of lower rates in the future.
There actually is, rates cannot go up in perpetuity. The Fed chair has already hinted at one more hike and MAYBE a pause. Job numbers came in last week, the labor market is showing signs of cooling down.

Tempting but I don't qualify for rebates.

Any way around AGI limitations of tax rebate for married couple?

Is filing tax as single for each spouse worth it? I haven't done the math.

Don't suggest obvious things to lower AGI, like maxing 401K, HSA, tax loss harvesting stocks, etc.

Obviously SOME cost less... just as SOME cost more-- that's what an average is.

Maybe while sitting there you can look at trading in for a tesla that is both higher performance and charges at 250 Kw LMAO

Haha that's always a Tesla fanboy's go-to reason for buying the rattle cage that is a Tesla. I'm surprised you didn't mention about the FSD.

Fifth price cut this year.

Are they going to start weekly price cuts?

Used Tesla prices fell 31% last month alone.

I get that EVs are the future, but the idiot that bought the company is starting to have the same effect on Tesla's value as he had on Twitter.

Tesla nickels and dimes you. You have to pay for mobile charger, charger installation, non-refundable order fee, extra delivery fee, etc. It adds up. Chevy doesn't make you pay for any of that.
Chevy may include a charger however you don't have to deal with a Dealership tacking on their "market adjustments". If you can find Bolt and get is for MSRP the go for it, it is a good value but it's also not a Model 3/Y. Apples and Oranges.

I tried to get a Bolt but didn't have success with availability, ended up pulling the trigger on a Y and have been happy. Nice upgrade coming from an old Nissan LEAF.

If you can get a good deal on a Bolt it's also a SLICKDEAL, but that shouldn't take away from people getting a Tesla.

Anyone here crazy enough to buy an electric vehicle and not have electric charging at home? I live in an area where they are plenty of Tesla charging stations around me. And charging at work is almost free.

People in this thread are ridiculous. I bought Tesla in February, I called three Chevy dealers in my area and not one could get me in Chevy Bolt. They have no interest is selling these. Telsa on the other hand had be behind a wheel in 5 clicks. Buying experience couldn't have been easier. I'd at least recommend a test drive for those who haven't.

I once owned an MYLR. I'm glad we sold it last year when market was booming. Lost money on FSD ($10k!!!) which ended up being useless. Couldn't even use cruise control without it phantom braking. The wifey almost got a heart attack because of it.

These fanboys won't tell you any of the negatives of owning a Tesla. Instead, they'll boast about the performance and charging rate, which they're not wrong about. Just keep an open mind about what the 'haters' tell you, especially those who were ex-owners.

I guess you could say one was in high demand while the other was not.

I bought a model y inJan, do I have to have at least 7500 on tax day next year to get the full credit? Confused if I should reduce withholding. I do pay enough taxes to pay more than 7500 for the whole year

Haha, nice to see another popular post about Tesla. I own a Model Y LR, I don't feel bad for the changes of the price. I kind hope Tesla keeps reducing the price, so that I don't have to pay as much when I get my next one.
Tesla is not the best car, but definitely decent EV. If you want to get a Mach-E/Ioniq5/EV6/ID4..., once you get to the trims that are equivalent to what Tesla offers, the price might be even higher. And you will have to deal with the car dealers who will ruin your excitement of getting a new car (and scam you lots of $$ if you are not careful).
Yes we are looking at all the other options with mache leading the way and the equivalent mach-e is just way too expensive to the model Y LR. Its almost like we need to tell the dealer, i can just order a tesla online, i dont want to have to deal with your markups or BS dealership talk in addition to being like 8K more. Just hoping this reduction will drive more of the EV SUVs to further price cuts that will be comparable to the tesla pricing. Throw in the full tax credits, going tesla is almost a no brainer unless someone a hater.

my understanding you have to have the full offset amount if you want to take advantage of the 7.5k and it doesnt roll over to followoing year from what i understand. So reduce wittholdings just to be safe
