Tesla does not import cars made in China to the US.... all US sold Teslas are manufacturing in California or Texas. China made cars are sold domestically in China, and also are the primary source of cars exported to locations other than North America (though the Berlin factory is slowly replacing exports to the EU over time with those cars being shifted to other, new-to-tesla, markets- for example deliveries to Thailand began recently)

That said, and as others have pointed out-you've been able to buy a $35,000 Model 3 many times over the years. At retail from Tesla without tax credit considerations from early 2019 through late 2020 for example. And now once again from ~Jan 1 to April 18 of this year with the $7500 tax credit.
my point being that car is available like for forever, and is cheaper if it were imported tax free to U.S. even after US incentives to EV, and China makes more than half of the entire tesla ever since shanghai factory is completed, so it has been pretty much where the tesla is made for any market that's not North America.
to say that in N/A the model 3 is not below 35k when in fact it is more due to taxation and policies is not a fair statement in my mind.

Yes. For customer satisfaction but at the bottom of the list next to Lincoln for reliability. Tesla owners refuse to admit they made a mistake after paying so much.

Dealerships change pricing nearly every day. These Tesla price drops only get so much visibility because hedge funds want it in the news for algobots.

Stock is going to take a beating on Monday. Clearly demand issues.
There's demand issues in the entire auto market right now. Plus you have to remember that Tesla is ramping production at like 40% per year. They can afford to drop prices and still be massively profitable, while all other EV companies in the US lose money on every EV they sell (even at higher prices).

Quote from Consumer reports :
We expect the 2023 Model 3 will have about average reliability when compared to the average new car.

That's their guess of course...

We do have REAL repair data to look at instead however.

Where we find, much like in customer satisfaction, Tesla is near the absolute best in the industry.

Latest data available on warranty rates by brand is here (from late 2022)

https://www.warrantyweek.com/arch...21006.html

The number is warranty claims as a percentage of sales.

Some bad brands (lots of warranty problems) are VW at a horrendous 4.5%, Kia at 3.0% and Ford and GM both at 2.9%

Better brands include folks like Nissan at 1.2% and Toyota at 1.0%.

Guess what Tesla scored? 1.1%. The second best brand of all brands sold in the US.

Our relatives in EU got chinese BYD model. Cost similar to BMW X5, however it is so much fun to drive, many new features including massage front seats. My feeling that Chinese automakers is coming soon to usa and Tesla will be looking outdated.

Funny how Tesla owners defend their cars to the death even though they are at the bottom of the list of reliable cars. Just google it.
Huh? Maybe according to CNN. Are you saying you trust the news more than actual Tesla owners? Lol

lol he just doesn't get it. They replaced it with one with same fire risk batteries and he is ecstatic about it haha.
Not true at all. The battery defect has been corrected in the replacement batteries. The fire risk is no longer present. Plus, the batteries were upgraded in the older Bolts to 66 kwh.

That's a database of reported dealer markups. Searching just on the bolt and JUST on markups $7000 or more, finds a bunch of dealerships on both coasts (and a few in the middle) marking up at least $7000. If you drop the filter to "only" 5k you get a LOT more.

Not to say you can't find anybody who will sell at MSRP, if they have one to sell you... but 7k (and more) is really happening some places at these lovely Haggle locations.

And more desirable cars have had 10-20k markups or more pretty widely reported.
Most people getting them at MSRP are putting in orders, or finding the cars in transit before the car hits the lot and putting down a deposit. Both of these allows the buyer to ensure MSRP before the deposit is placed.

We also have this going on to help others see which dealers are msrp and which ar not.

Last years income is irrelevant, the 2023 credit will depend on your 2023 income. There is no bottom income limit, but you do need $7500 in tax liability to use the full credit....That's about 54k in net taxable income single, or about 65.9k married filing jointly on the 2022 tax tables but they'll change slightly for 2023.

There is an UPPER income limit, 150k single or 300k married filing jointly.
