That said, and as others have pointed out-you've been able to buy a $35,000 Model 3 many times over the years. At retail from Tesla without tax credit considerations from early 2019 through late 2020 for example. And now once again from ~Jan 1 to April 18 of this year with the $7500 tax credit.
to say that in N/A the model 3 is not below 35k when in fact it is more due to taxation and policies is not a fair statement in my mind.
Yes. For customer satisfaction but at the bottom of the list next to Lincoln for reliability. Tesla owners refuse to admit they made a mistake after paying so much.
That's their guess of course...
We do have REAL repair data to look at instead however.
Where we find, much like in customer satisfaction, Tesla is near the absolute best in the industry.
Latest data available on warranty rates by brand is here (from late 2022)
https://www.warrantywee
The number is warranty claims as a percentage of sales.
Some bad brands (lots of warranty problems) are VW at a horrendous 4.5%, Kia at 3.0% and Ford and GM both at 2.9%
Better brands include folks like Nissan at 1.2% and Toyota at 1.0%.
Guess what Tesla scored? 1.1%. The second best brand of all brands sold in the US.

That's a database of reported dealer markups. Searching just on the bolt and JUST on markups $7000 or more, finds a bunch of dealerships on both coasts (and a few in the middle) marking up at least $7000. If you drop the filter to "only" 5k you get a LOT more.
Not to say you can't find anybody who will sell at MSRP, if they have one to sell you... but 7k (and more) is really happening some places at these lovely Haggle locations.
And more desirable cars have had 10-20k markups or more pretty widely reported.
We also have this going on to help others see which dealers are msrp and which ar not.

Last years income is irrelevant, the 2023 credit will depend on your 2023 income. There is no bottom income limit, but you do need $7500 in tax liability to use the full credit....That's about 54k in net taxable income single, or about 65.9k married filing jointly on the 2022 tax tables but they'll change slightly for 2023.
There is an UPPER income limit, 150k single or 300k married filing jointly.
