Or is the internet just a bunch of phonies?
Tesla has become somewhat like Apple.

Even when apple started to screw their fans and consumers by increasing price with little to no upgrades and in some cases actually remove and take away features, the sheep still flock.

Amazing

I like Teslas, but I want a large SUV like the Kia EV9. The EV9 will start at about $55,000, get about 350 miles per charge
It's exceptionally unlikely to do that at any price, let alone 55k

It's going to have 2 battery options- the longer range one is not going to be on the base model.... and every story I've seen only says "at least 300" miles range for the larger, more expensive, battery- not 350.

Quote from BrutusBeefcake :
I 10 year/100,000 mile on motors and batteries
So 2 more years, but 20,000 less miles, than the Tesla warranty on those things for most versions of the 3/Y... (and 50,000 less miles than the warranty on the S/X battery and motors).

That said- Kia/Hyundai have done a quite decent job on several of their EVs so far-- so if you really do need that specific form factor, and accept you're not getting that range without spending quite a bit more on a higher trim model- it's a perfectly reasonable vehicle to wait for.

Quote from BrutusBeefcake :
I 1 Another option would be the new Ram Trucks, up to a 500 mile range.
I think you're going to be hilariously disappointed in the final specs/pricing on those.

i sure hope they are, Apple is approaching 3T mkt cap. I still remember when 1T was seemingly impossible.

If your state has Tesla insurance its reasonable. If it doesn't then it can be several times what other brand cars cost.
Ok. I don't have the time or brains to lay this out properly. When I read "Tesla insurance" I just have to say that is the problem, your state gets the say. Good night

Tesla will continue to drop prices as they have 5 times this year.
Did you miss the last time this false claim was debunked?

Here- let me remind you LMAO

Quote from Knightshade :
For 3/Y:

Actual across the line price cuts: Jan 12 and April 6. That's 2

Actual price INCREASES on all changed prices: Jan 23 and Feb 10.

Price went UP $500 for some trims, and DOWN $500 for others: Feb 3 and Feb 12.

You can see pricing with dates of changes here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...1843681657

The NET result between Jan 12 and today for 3 and Y is:

LR-Y is…the SAME price now as then. The P-Y is…the SAME price now as then… the P-3 is…$1000 cheaper now than then…the SR-3 is $2000 cheaper now than then

So no, price hasn't been "cut 5 times" on any model this year. Some had as many as 3 cuts, some as many as 2 INCREASES. With the net result being most versions of the 3/Y are roughly the SAME price now as they were a couple months ago..... and in fact a couple of trims are still more expensive than they were back in like mid-2019 because they did a TON of price INCREASES during the pandemic and haven't cut all those prices fully back to pre-covid levels yet.

Tesla is like .000000% of the market, apples and oranges

Uh... what?

Tesla sold ~1.3 million cars last year. They're moving even further up in market share this year and will sell 1.8-2 million by end of year...their share was already much higher than you claim and keeps growing.

Cox Automotive found that during Q1, Tesla controlled roughly 5.1% of the overall market, placing it above brands like BMW, Mercedes, Mazda, Subaru, and even Volkswagen within the United States

Man, this hurts. Tesla forced me to pickup my car in November 2022 when the interest rates were very high and right before the new tax credits went into effect. So I got screwed on both sides since I don't qualify for the tax credits. I contacted Tesla to see if they could give me something to make up for it (eg: FSD, enhanced auto pilot or Tesla credits for maintenance etc...) the rep told me a manager would call me but the manager never did. I called twice. Anyways, it's not all bad, the car is great but Tesla is not so great when it comes to customer service. If some of you guys feel like you should wait, please do because Tesla most likely won't do anything to appease you two months after they lower the prices drastically

well. it is available in China (33.8k) , in fact, model Y standard range in china is about 38k. so it is really has to do with import / export tax than anything else.

I don't think "looks" is at the top of the list for anyone buying a bolt or a Tesla, fwiw

Model 3 dropped $1000 BUT the $7500 tax credit is going away, so not really a price drop unless you have cash to buy one before April 18
Whats up with that? If we buy before April 18, we are still eligible for 7500 tax credit? We will get that on 2023 returns filing?

so? there is a reason why china dominate the manufacturing, and let's not kid ourselves, that's how ANY manufacturing power house country started, US included.

and as far as that 2.5% import tariff? you do know the actual tariff from china to US is 20 percent right?

"Average US tariffs on Chinese exports remain elevated at 19.3 percent"
https://www.piie.com/research/pii...date-chart

but honestly this is out side of the deal itself. my point was, and still is, that model 3 has been available for around 35k for forever. the fact that import tax and polices made that price unavailable to some market isn't really fault of tesla.

You are ridiculous for asking for something when they decreased the price of the car. So do you also cry to Costco when they clearance an item you buy.

No dealer will offer any refunds just because they lowered the price. It's reality. You and many others who bought early got screwed.
