Second- >95% of Teslas cars aren't 50k anymore thanks to the credits. In fact the cheapest are about 35k right now, and most of the rest in the low 40s.
Tesla raised prices, a lot, throughout the pandemic. They're simply unwinding those raises for the most part.
In most cases the prices NOW (ex credits) are about the same as they were in mid-2019 after these last price cuts...some slightly higher, some slightly lower.
Test drive before you buy earliest in the morning is a good time and be sure you are the first person who drives the car of that day.

This stupid thread started with some troll bringing up a Bolt just to get people bothered and has gotten out of control.
If you like a Bolt, go buy a Bolt. If you like a Tesla, go buy a Tesla. Nobody honestly cares. I don't like either of them.
But to sit here and pretend that they are in the same class of comparable cars is just ignorant. Again they both have their positives and negatives, but they are tailored towards different target audience.
Don't bother to reply because I am done with this stupid discussion. I truly don't care what you think.
Thank you! I bought a Y
They have the 2nd lowest rate of warranty claims of any brand of car sold in the US-- only slightly behind Toyota, and ahead of....literally everyone else.
Latest data available on warranty rates by brand is here (from late 2022)
https://www.warrantywee
The number is claims as a percentage of sales.
Some bad brands (lots of warranty problems) are VW at a horrendous 4.5%, Kia at 3.0% and Ford and GM both at 2.9%
Better brands include folks like Nissan at 1.2% and Toyota at 1.0%.
Guess what Tesla scored? 1.1%. The second best brand of all brands sold in the US.
How many times do you need to be proven wrong with actual facts and data before you stop repeating your nonsense and unsupported claims about this topic?

2. Because where's the bargain in an overpriced EV that
3. Requires a $10k+ battery pack replacement every decade or so and
4. Keeps crashing into fire trucks, and 18 wheelers and
5. Recently, even had the steering wheel pop off for some because Tesla forgot to screw them down right!
6. But thankfully, the Tesla will probably catch on fire sitting in the garage all on its own before a steering wheel falls off, up your home insurance for the total loss.
Maybe if this was a Ferrari deal and the car actually appreciated over time, but this isn't a deal for most average car buyers.
Anyways, $26k Chevy Bolt vs $18k Nissan Versa calculations I did around beginning of the year.
120k to 230k~ MILES is what a Versa driver MUST put in before the cost of the Versa + gasoline becomes MORE expensive than the purchase price of the Bolt.
God only knows how many 100ks of miles more is needed to break even with a Tesla.
Anyone here actually got a horrible job that's so far away they'll put in the 300k-600k+ miles of driving within a decade to make driving a Versa more expensive than the cheapest Tesla??!
If you think the only difference between driving a Versa and a Tesla is cost of fuel, this thread might not be for you.
Which begs the question- why are you in it?

Yes, i guess so are just so above all of us, huh, not caring what kind of car you drive at all. Good for you.
Edit: I am not crazy about the looks of a Tesla either. I get it, it's polarizing. There are some people who love it and some who don't. But at least it's not a Bolt. Don't get me wrong, a Bolt has its place and purpose. A good-looking stylish car, it is NOT. I think every non-Bolt owner (and probably many Bolt owners) will agree to that. I think if you are in a professional building parking lot, being seen walking out of a Bolt would be downright an embarrassment. Ok, some of you are above looks and materialism, good for you. The rest of the world doesn't operate that way. You can potentially find the president of a company drive a Tesla, but you are not going to find one driving a Bolt. Not the president of a real company with 50+ employees (unless he/she is so big and rich he is doing it just to prove a point like Bill Gates). Let's be real hear.
Comparing a Bolt to a Tesla has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. They both have their merits and their weak points, but they are COMPLETELY different types of cars for different target audiences. It's like comparing a Bolt to a golf cart. Both do their jobs well, just meant for different purposes. So stop with the stupid comparisons.
My boss drives a Kia Soul. 🥲
