My light turned green and I started moving.
Suddenly my Tesla braked and stopped.
Next thing I see is a car running its red light going across mine.
A.) Find a supercharger on your route
B.) Wait to charge (to use the equipment and also wait to charge)
None of this is currently as convenient as finding a gas station on a long road trip. It also limits your routes since you have to find a supercharger on your route.
1) Your EV is not a Tesla
2) You are in a really remote location
Where I am in the Northeast, I have made several interstate trips and have always had superchargers available in the interstate as well as away from highways. I never had to actively seek them out.
Tesla is also very good at placement of their superchargers (rest area stops on the highways, which you would be taking for long distance trips anyway) or shopping malls and transportation hubs.
Your points are very valid ofr Non Tesla EVs, which is why I steer people away from non Tesla EVs if they tell me they are planning on using it frequently for long distance trips.

Insurance can very by a lot depending on driver record though so I don't usually like to compare insurance across people.
However, people try to scare others saying you will pay insane amount to cover Tesla, which is yet another scare tactic and not grounded in truth.
My Tesla insurance is in fact lower than what I was paying to cover my Hybrid.

No one uses their eyeballs anymore. It's a shame. I loved the eighties.
Maybe stop giving tax breaks to the ultra wealthy and we could use that money for "Americans"

FSD is still in beta mode and I would not use it especially at night.
Also, FSD is an optional add on and I highly advise people NOT to add it on., especially given its price.
I just got State Farm today and it's 220 a month for model y

I have a reservation Fisker Ocean Ultra and a Rivian R1S, but chose to get Tesla Model Y is the CHARGING NETWORKS and service centers. I might cancel either of them depends on the after sales service.
PS - went to get a 2022 Toyota Venza but the dealership added $7500 markup. Also tried using Costco auto program and they denied it. Dealerships are scumbags.
