FSD is still in beta mode and I would not use it especially at night.
Also, FSD is an optional add on and I highly advise people NOT to add it on., especially given its price.
PS - went to get a 2022 Toyota Venza but the dealership added $7500 markup. Also tried using Costco auto program and they denied it. Dealerships are scumbags.
Rivian is a very good but I decided against it for two reasons:
1) Lack of access to Tesla supercharger. My friend always has range anxiety because of how crappy non tesla charging network is. He keeps hoping tesla opens it chargers to others but Tesla is only planning on opening about 5% of its chargers to non Teslas. Also non Teslas will be paying a lot more to charge their EVs at Tesla superchargers. Tesla is basically going to give limited access to their superchargers to non Tesla owners to let them know what they are missing out on.
2) Rivians are inefficient. They rip through kwh. Which makes concern 1 even more of a concern.
If lack of superchargers and inefficiency wasnt an issue with Rivian, we would have owned one.

Also, since we already had a Model 3, Model Y synergizes nicely with it.
When we picked our Model Y, another person was picking his as well. He traded in his MachE. He said he was happy with the car but where he drives often to NH, he needed to charge and the only chargers up there were superchargers and thus the trade.
The other car we were strongly considering was the Ionic 5 however we decided against it because of the following reasons:
1) no access to tesla charging network
2) It's more of a hatchback and lot less cargo space compared to Model Y.
3) Not as good performance
4) Lack of active camera security
But Ionic 5 had other things going for it:
1) More spacious interior and comfort
2) Birds eye camera view
3) HUDs
Also, bear in mind that when we made the decicon, Tesla was NOT eligible for tax credit but Hyundai was. Now Tesla is but Hyundai isnt which makes Hyundai and EV6 a really poor buy IMO.
Ultimately its the lack of reliable supercharging network that makes us stay away from other EVs.
When you buy into an EV you dont just buy into it but also its charging network and I think most people dont FULLY realize it until after they have made the purchase.

Mach-E was my first choice, but again I would have to deal with a dealership. I had a horrible experience FRAUDSHIPS in search for an ICE/Plugin hybrid, and stories that I read online made me decide otherwise. These dealerships are turning people away from buying non-ev vehicles.
My friend was very upset after learning that the dealership charged him 7500 markup 2023 Toyota Highlander hybrid for $65000.
My colleague leased a Hyundai Santa Fe and they added 5000 to the lease if she wants to buy at the end of the term.

It's likely going to be back with cybertruck though since it's more useful in a "worksite" environment and they said all vehicles will likely support some sort of V2G/V2L in the next 2 years because they tend not to want to have significant part differences if possible.... (ie if you're gonna have it on some vehicles might as well have it on all to avoid supply chain complexity and cost with different boards)
I probably won't go the cybertruck or ev truck route for awhile ( have a 22 powerboost hybrid) , have been looking at the hyundai ionic 6 or maybe going with the suv from them or kia ( all those support v2l ) I think we'll end up with a hybrid (truck) + phev (suv) + bev (sedan/crossover) so pretty much all variants of efficiency lol
