I have this, sander is great, Good power. Only complaint is the cap to the dust collector on it is total trash and constantly pops open and spills dust everywhere.

I've noticed that's true of a lot of Milwaukee tools, but I think it's an issue with the battery readout. If you're seeing 2/4 LEDs that doesn't mean you have 50% charge left, but instead it's time to charge the battery

If I apply a gift card and go ahead with the hack, how will I be refunded? Does anyone have experience with that scenario?

Yikes... That sounds horrible. I have an unopened dewalt 5" random orbital sander but mostly milwaukee everything else... Would like a "matching" sander but not if its going to have those kinds of issues!

Agreed, can't go wrong with any of the offerings, and actually the sander seems a bit overpriced imo

In this case I read it as I'm using a variable speed tool. For the variable speed tool to do much work I need to have it on 50% or greater speed. While the tools do drop power (voltage) as the indicator bars go down plenty of work can be done on them. Yes, drills etc will have less power but most of the time it's still plenty to accomplish the task at hand.

Hmm, seems like the hack doesn't work online.

Can get the price down to 85, but the battery and charger are only returnable in store. Don't have one within an hour of my area.

Trying to cancel just the battery/charger forces the cancel of the whole order. Going to have to back out of this one unless I'm doing something wrong.

Comes with an adapter so you can hook a vacuum hose directly to the dust exhaust, have you tried that? Same issue?

Try two different stores for pickup - one for the tool and one for the battery kit. You should be able to call and cancel even if you can't do it on the app once you pick up your tool

Good idea, but not going to drive over an hour to pick it up.

Won't allow me to mix delivery and pick up options.

Worth a try though, thanks.

Very tool-dependent, that's true. Bigger demand is gonna mean quicker drain. Actually my (adapted) Dyson vaccuum drains an M18 quicker than anything else 🫠

Yep, they no longer let you mix delivery and pickup. For anyone in a more populated area, I think splitting the pickups between two stores is the only way to make this work if you want to avoid a return trip to get a refund for the battery kit
