These suckers bump. No sub needed. But if you really want to be a friendly neighbor go with the monolith 2000k watt sub.😆

In for a pair, thanks OP! The price seems too good to be true, but I'm willing to risk it and keep expectations low. But with Def Tech, can't go wrong.

Twin non powered 10" passive radiators. Your bass is coming from the 6.5" mid bass drivers. Good luck.

These look mean, but they are not powered. People say passive radiators not for everyone

I've got some older Definitive Mythos speakers and have been pretty unimpressed with them. I'm no audiophile and I'm going to struggle to describe it properly, other than to say they seem a little muddy and lack clarity. Seems more like they were designed with looks in mind over sound. I've also used various infinity speakers, JBL, Pinnacle, Celestion and Polk to name a few off the top of my head and haven't felt the same level of disappointment in any of them. I know nothing about this particular speaker though.

Seems like some awfully fat margins in speakers these days.

I just associate def tech with the cheapest of the cheap you can get at Best Buy. How would these stack up against, say, the JBL590s on sale at $500 a speaker right now?
These are better. The JBL 590 are an exceptional value for their low price, though. Definitely see diminishing returns on audio quality as you climb higher into the thousands of $ per speaker category. For some (audiophiles) it is worth it.

Very picky about room placement, and they have horrible support if you get one damaged or other issues

Dont know how I became a deftech fan.. BP7002 here for a 2.0 set up. Another room has SM65 fronts, clr2000 center and bp2x for rears with a pair of supercube 4ks. Outdoor are a pair of AW6500. Of all the rooms, the outdoor sound the best. Tells you a lot about room treatment..

value, the jbl to me seems like better value. you get bigger powered drivers.

there is a difference in design though, passive radiators are less boomy and you usually don't get port noise.

neither the 590 nor this speaker are klippel driven designs though, so they're colorfully non-neutral.

Hopefully you don't get 2 left speakers and one black, one white speaker like my brother did when he ordered some last week 🤣
