Rumor has it that these prices are softening and perhaps will be softening more . They have all introduced their flagship models( Pioneer LX805/Onkyo RZ70/Integra DRX8.4) with the full Dirac suite

Do the new receivers have a better Dirac than the old?
Pioneer Elite vsx-lx505 or Onkyo rz50? I have the RZ50 (which I love) but it looks like Pioneer gets the nod on the web.
I have the Pioneer, but I thought some people preferred the Onkyo as you could EQ two subs independently or it had true dual subs or something like that.

I dont think the Onkyo can do that...even then you would have to buy the Dirac bass control option
But honestly..Nothing at this price point is going to sound better, room EQ wise, than these Pioneer/Onkyo/Integra units even without the added bass control option
While they are few they're differences between the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX505 and The Onkyo RZ50.
google search "Pioneer Elite vsx-lx505 or Onkyo rz50"
and checkout audio science reviews "Pioneer Elite vsx-lx505 or Onkyo rz50"
Lots of info there, maybe too much ?
I would think (if you're not always using Dirac) one big difference would be the using the MCACC calibration on the pioneer vs Onkyo's version. And of course there's the all one crossover (since forever) on the pioneer vs separate crossovers on the Onkyo. I have a pioneer and the one crossover works fine but I'm looking to upgrade to one of these.
Do you (or anyone here) know which of these avr's calibrations is preferred or better (not including Dirac)?
Also I'm confused about this: I hear Dirac doesn't do height channels, just horizontal. So would I have to use the other calibration (MCACC or Onkyo's) to listen to atmos with height channels?
