Rewards earned are issued around the 10-15th of the following month and are valid to the end of the next calendar month. So a recycled item in April would be paid out in mid may and valid to June 30th.

May's item credit will be available in June, so you can redeem two $10 rewards certs at once for $20 in goods from 6/15 to 6/30. Rewards certs on good on most items in store except gift cards, postage stamps and prepaid phone cards. You must redeem the full amount of the certs. at once, no credit it given back. You do not earn any new rewards on the redemption value of the certificates.

Tech rewards are valid to use IN STORE ONLY, you can not redeem them online or for online pick up orders.

You will also get a same day only $10 off $30 in store coupon on your electronic recycle receipt. May want to take advantage of that on using your rewards in store.

So if I am reading this correctly, I can bring in ONE item (including a single old rechargeable aa battery that never seems to hold a charge any more) and get $10 in rewards and I don't have to have purchased anything (like ink recycling requires)? Usually it's $5 and starting the 16th, it's $10?

Nice, I just found the brother toner to be returned and now they would give me $ to do that.

I see $5 for recycling. Where do you see $10? May need a computer chair and have to check for any additional off codes.

I stopped recycling ink a while back when the requirement went to $50/180 days of purchased ink. Still a good deal but I just do not use/purchase that much retail ink any longer.

I was not aware that the tech recycle of the normal $5/month was available without any additional purchase requirements, so great to know for future. As for this three month offer, what a bonus!!!

Thanks to all the posters and OP for giving some new info. Very useful.

$10 offer does not start until 4/16, clearly in title and OP info.

LJDerm,

about 2x a year Staples will offer 50% back in rewards on ink/toner. I did this last in September 2022 on 9/15, bought $51 pre tax with Discover rewards GC's that offer 15% bonus. (ie $21 in rewards for $25 GC).

Paid about $54 w/tax, got back 5% CB on a cb site, 50% back in rewards ($25) so about $28 back on $42 worth of rewards redemption + small OOP..

That allowed me recycle for SEVEN MONTHS (Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March (prior to 3/15)

Each time I had a $10/30 coupon to use from various sources, so each $20 ink rewards became $30 in value. Therefore I got $210 in spending for the $20 net purchase of ink (after discounts and rewards on the ink) Was worth it. I won't touch it without the 50% back on ink. Hopefully it will roll around in September again (currently don't qualify for ink rewards) The price of ink cartridges (empty/used on Ebay) has gone up quite a bit since 2020. Now about .40 per cart versus .10-15 years back. So each 10 you recycle has a built in cost of $4 also.

Sums it up quite accurately. Of course the rewards check for what you turn in on say 4/16 won't be in your account to redeem until about May 12 and valid until 6/30 to redeem.
I did it last time.,in January I think and I still haven't got my reward yet.

you are given a receipt at the time of turn in, you should have received your reward in February. If you have proof of your recycle transaction, I would contact them. Most have long received January's by now. in fact, Feb issues rewards expired on 3/31.

Yes I have my receipt,
Funny that I did notice that I have $10 in my account since last week but if I go to the itemization it doesn't list any recycling rewards,it still says zero , but I didn't have the $10 before but I did buy a gaming chair there for like $100

So are you telling me I could have been recycling random stuff for $5/month?

Could have likely cleared out all the useless cables I have by now.
If running into a Staples store to recycle something and then running in the to the store the next month to buy an overpriced item is worth $5 to you, then yes. To me personally, it isn't worth it for $5. Now for $10, it might be worth it.
