I actually bought this last time it was on sale and I love it.
I have zero guitar experience and am slowly picking it up for fun. As a newbie who has no real understanding of what makes a quality guitar, I realize this will be taken with a grain of salt, but for a simple guitar that works, comes with a case, and sounds nice? Solid deal.

It took me over 10 years of playing to obtain my first quality guitar able to be set up very well. Valued at slightly over 1000$ (but some lower cost can be set up well; but acoustic has zero setup available) ;. I had no idea that I sucked because my guitars sucked. Alongside rocksmith within 2 months I went from playing misfits to finally being able to play the bethoven level of technical metal I had spent my life trying to learn to play.
So not knocking this guitar ; but no matter what some rich famous musician selling you a budget guitar that sponsors him says; at one point upgrading from a Ford pinto with only 2 tires on it to a brand new Lamborghini does indeed mean you have a chance to compete in the race
I just received this guitar yesterday and I love it! Needs a bit of tuning and and I really like the case/accessories that came with it.
My only complaint is that when I received the external box that came with it, it doesn't have any tapes on it to keep it closed/secured while it shipped from KY to CA. Good thing the guitar was inside the guitar case and I did not see any scratches and the accessories did not fall off.
I'll have to kindly ask you to stop posting cheap monoprice guitars because I need to stop buying cheap monoprice guitars
LOL; but I'll have to ask you to stop calling them cheap compared to inexpensive. Meaning good quality for the rock bottom price. Cheap implies expensive guitars are a lot more quality and often they are not. We even have examples of the lowest priced, new guitars coming setup nicely; while looking and feeling nicer than most high cost (middle priced) guitars.
That said, it is important to understand; 'completely' setup depends on user many preferences and so you actually might not want too much setup. Then the naysayers (who paid hundreds or more) complain you have to pay for setup. Well, go to a store, pay the premium for a guitar and have it custom setup; if you want to pay more. Low cost guitars lend themselves to customization; but most are high quality. Some factories and distributers more than others. IMHO it is best to learn how to take care of your own guitar anyway, and to adjust it to your own needs.
So it's like this; if I think anything whatsoever is wrong with a new, incoming guitar then I will take advantage of the good return policy. And that's after reading what (most) others have received (and with a grain of salt). Check real feedback and polices first and before you buy. Ancient, poor quality guitars from poor quality makers, still circulating as used, don't count. The odd fly-by-night seller does not count. 1 instance of bad report among hundreds counts; as indication to buy, due to the hundreds of happy buyers. Assuming you understand some feedback can be cheated.
Then there are the parts. Usually the parts are fine; but there are always high end parts and they may or may not make much difference. However; even if you do not like a part then LOW COST, improved parts can be easily added also. Such as a $10 TUSQ nut upgrade. Not necessary; but nice. If you set the height in balance to a well leveled (slight scoop) neck.

The other one gives get15off code; that worked just now, in the checkout dialog. Make it $59.50 for this moment.
I like the steel string one when it's on sale; but needs a darker headstock, just for me. Minor.
