I don't think that's needed, most of these compressors already have a fuse in the connector that goes in the cigarette lighter port. If you are worried you are going to blow two fuses (the one in the unit and the one in the fuse box of the car) and then somehow damage your car I recommend getting a name brand cordless unit. I have used plenty of cheap air compressors and never had an issue shorting out anything in the car.

MSRP is very inflated, so take strike-thru price with some skepticism. I got this exact one in 2021 for $15
That said, this is a good price for an occasional use trunk item. It is slow and loud, but in a pinch it will get the job done.
always assume cheap compressors like this have a lousy duty cycle: don't run it continuously for a long time if you want it to last. for top offs you'll be fine but doing multiple tires from flat might kill it

Actually have this exact one. Purchased it in 2019 for $25. Works well and though it's pretty loud I have no other complaints. Have used it on my car, onewheels, a bicycle, etc.

if you are going to use something like this its probably best to use a 12v cigarette to battery clamps adapter cable to connect it directly to the car battery. This would prevent blowing out the cigarette lighter fuze and shorting out anything else.

Loud and slow, does the job good enough however... Cant really do any better for the price . .cigarette lighter works fine you def don't need to do anything fancy ... Just make sure your car is on while you are using it to make sure voltage stays strong

its a precaution step especially with all of todays cars electronics. $10 vs. $500-1000+ electronic console or something fried.

I got one when it was similarly discounted in 2021. It's works well enough for the occasional pressure check and top up. Thanks OP, in for another.

price inflated, bad pun lol. It's worth it the one time you get stranded. I keep giving mine away to ladies in distress.

Completely agree, most should not be run continuously for more than 10 mins but always read the manual. I have two cordless inflators (Ryobi and Ridgid) and the manual says the run cycle is 5 minutes on and 5 minutes off.

I bought the Harbor Freight metal one. It's been great, but the cord cracked near the unit. I had the same thing with my heat gun, but it exploded near my face and it was brand new.

It was suggested as a good product from Project Farm.
