This is the lowest price yet by $3.00, so I bought one just now, finally pulled the trigger. I had about $75 of Amazon store credit in my account just waiting to be used Smilie
Had a hard time deciding between the SN770 and this one for nearly the same price, finally went with the P5 Plus, due to it having 2GB of LPDDR4 DRAM while the SN770 has none.

Does anyone know whether or not the firmware can be updated? I wouldn't have thought to ask this before, but I just picked up a pair of inland SSDs from Microcenter yesterday and while looking for an update, I found out that not only are there no updates available, they actually have zero support. The price was great (2TB for $99), but I'm not comfortable with not having firmware updates (especially when they're not even consistent with what they're shipping, according to posts I've seen).
Yes, there is Crucial Storage Executive, which can update the firmware if needed (and if an update is available). It's a decent all around "toolbox" for Crucial drives. See link below:

Thank you. I'm happy to see Crucial has this ability just like WD and Samsung. I also have an Intel SSD that came with my laptop and I can't find any way to update that one either because Intel sold off their SSD division.

A lot of people point out when an NVMe SSD is missing DRAM, or when it's QLC instead of TLC, but we should probably also point out when an SSD doesn't have any firmware support.

Glad to help. I actually have one of the MC Inland Professional 1TB NVMe drives in my office PC, and have been able to use the PNY PCIE Toolbox to monitor it (apparently uses the same controller), I can see all details about the MC drive and use the TRIM command, but I'm afraid to try a firmware update with this tool so far, don't want to brick the drive since it's my OS drive. But you can safely run the toolbox to check out the MC Inland drive if you wish - download it here: https://www.pny.com/company/suppo...ate-drives

How does Amazon's price adjusting work? I bought this 2 weeks ago when it was $3 more. Do I wait for it to go lower even more or just email them now about getting the $3 refunded? Can you get multiple adjustments? I believe I have 30 days to ask for an adjustment.

Oh wow, I didn't even realize you could use someone else's tool for something like the firmware. I appreciate your help, but I've already decided I'm just going to return them tomorrow. I was thinking about this Crucial one, but I think I'll just wait for the next WD deal since I'm not in a rush.

No adjustments. If it's worth it, you purchase another one, return old one. I don't know if you want to have them tag your account for too many returns just for $3 though. I've done several returns & repurchases, but not for $3, and I make a lot of permanent purchases with them anyway that more than make up for the returns.

Yeah, I have one of the MC Inland Pro 2TB drives on hold for me at the local (Tustin, CA) locations, for $99, but when wifey deleted my $15 coupon off her phone last night... and no way to recover it - "Doh!" (I would have paid $84 + tax) I decided to go with this Crucial drive instead. I have to say, though, the Inland drive has been excellent for me so far, and the TBW on it is great for a 1TB drive (1800TBW), although I've only written a bit over 4TB since installation (July '22). I expect the Inland to last for quite a few years yet. I'll be using the Crucial in a new build, and keeping the Inland in my office PC for the foreseeable future. IMHO, you also can't go wrong with the Inland for the price - performance ratio.

Ah, that's too bad about the coupon. Yeah, the numbers look really good for the price and the 2TB even has double the TBW (3600), but the firmware thing just doesn't sit well with me.

Thank you!!

In terms of using this for my PS5, any heatsink recommendations? The option bundled with the heatsink was $130 for biz pricing so I bought it without it assuming I could buy it separately?
