Ends Monday Night: Sur La Table is offering a copy of the L.C. wide round oven for $120 until Monday night. Available in store and on-line with free shipping. Low sides allow it to be used as a roaster. Three colors.

The wide round shape was originally created by Le Creuset with low sides and a large opening which allows it to brown large batches without crowding, to be used as a roaster and for easy access when used for table service. The low profile allows the use of multiple pots in the over and is easier to store.
Dimensions of sale item: 12" opening. 4-1/2" outside height to rim 3-3/4" interior depth, 9-1/4 " across bottom interior. weight: 15 lbs
Price comparison: I am unable to find a lower price in low profile including searching prior threads.
Thank you to Brett at the Palo Alto store for taking the time to provide the specifications below.
Compared to the original Le Creuset 6-3/4 qt Wide Round according to Brett:
- less bottom area due to the less square shape
- thicker cast iron makes it heavier and bulkier reducing the interior depth slightly
- bare iron at the top edge and lid rim lack the clear enamel like L.C. to prevent rust
- bottom is not perfectly flat; less efficient on induction, less even heating
- interior is smooth but not glass smooth; food release not as good
- finish has a noticeable amount of orange peel on the one which he inspected, less attractive utility grade
- 500 degree rating
- lid does not seal as tightly with a noticeable clank when shaking; no anti-warp features
- Lifetime warranty by Sur La Table against chipping and flaking
$160 in savings could make this a great value for some cooks. Myself and others consider the decades of service when paying the premium for French iron.

This oven is specific to folks who need to roast or to brown large batches without crowding or who need the low profile design to fit in their oven with other items or who need low profile for storage or other reasons.
The measurements and observations were given to me over the phone by Brett at the store who seemed to be relaying accurate and unbiased information. Check it out for yourself.
Comparing this to lower cost conventional shaped ovens is not helpful.
If it really was "not a good product" then why would Sur La Table offer a lifetime warranty?
If you appreciate the time it takes myself and others took to uncover and post accurate information for you then consider repping. Some like myself receive nothing but your thanks for our effort.
Shoppers asked for an honest comparison in the 6.75 wide L-C thread which is why I posted this. I do not promote one brand over the other. Let folks decide for themselves by providing measurable differences such as I obtained here from Brett at the Palo Alto store. He only looked at ONE example.
It's safe to order this knowing that you have free returns if defective and can download a $13 return label if it fails to meet expectations but lacks manufacturing defects. Only the buyer can determine how pleasing the piece is to his eye. It will roast the same as L.C. It may or may not brown as well.
When 6 down votes hit a thread minutes after posting you know they are from trolls who have never seen the product and know nothing about it.

I think it's getting down voted because it's got Le Creuset in the title but it's not the real thing. Yes it says "copy of" but probably triggered a bunch of alerts (mine included haha) and then come to find out it's not actually for that...
