It may be high-end but it's far from "top-of-the-line" since it was released back in 2020 and the 6950 XT, 7900 XT, and 7900 XTX now all out-rank it. Anyway, it's good to finally see powerful video cards trending down in price.

Agreed. Hoping that the GPU prices would drop as fast as the SSD.

7900 xt is down to $780 at the cheapest. Still waiting for the magic number of $700.

This is where I'm at too. I've stuck with my 1080ti since 2017 and planned on a 4070ti or 4080. I'm just finding it really hard to justify the cost for a card with such low VRAM.

For $800, I expect a GPU to have at least 16GB of VRAM. While the 4070ti has its merits and I would buy it in a heart beat over the 7900xt if it had 16GB VRAM, I've decided on the 7900xt after much consideration. 4080 is really what I want but I think the price is absolutely ridiculous and way out of my budget. Nvidia made the pricing and RAM mistake that they can't dig themselves out at the moment and AMD copied them on the pricing mistake. Both are greedy companies who only care about profit so I'm willing to wait it out until the price comes down.

lol, actually only about $18 more. Absolutely no reason to get the 6900 when the price difference is so slim. And you'll probably be money ahead in the long run anyway when it comes time to resell your card.

Even as a long-time Nvidia customer I kind of came to the same conclusion (although at a lower price point) when I chose the 16GB RX 6800 over competing Nvidia products. Nvidia really needs to rethink their strategy.

Yeah, I agree 100%. I'm trying to budget for a build later this year and will probably go with a 7800xt or xtx, depending on what the pricing for each look like then.

I would prefer to get the 4080 as well, but the $1,300+ pricing is insane.
