Price is reasonable for a very entry level bike. The 2.2 is also 20% off putting it at 2159. That's a reasonable but not great price for what you get. The recent costco priority bike sale got you a lot more power for a few hundred more, but those bikes do not have front suspension, a must in many cities

More people need to be aware of the Electric Bike Tax Credit bill ($1500) which incentivizes the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation and promotes a healthier lifestyle by providing tax credits for the purchase of electric bikes like these. By supporting this bill, we can encourage the use of sustainable transportation options and reduce our carbon footprint.

What was the priority deal? Was it just the costco next price?

I paid the same price for a dual suspension, 4 inch wide tire, dual 1000w watt motors (front and rear) with a 23 ah battery from ali.

This Tax incentive does not good for the average working person. Useless in it's entirety.

Agreed -- 30% off mostly subsidizes purchases for the upper middle class.

A flat "up to $500" would be a more effective way of making sure that more people wind up on ebikes.

Electric bikes get a tax credit but traditional bikes that are more environmentally friendly because they don't require toxic lithium batteries do not get a credit? 🤪

Ignoring the discussion about taxes....

I have the e2.2 in addition to a bunch of other ebikes with bosch, bafang, no-name motors. This bike is greater than the sum of its parts
  • The frame is incredibly light and well balanced for an ebike at this price point. The integrated rear rack is very sturdy and doesn't rattle at all like most bike racks do.
  • The Shimano mid drive is very limited on power but it has a lot better real world range than anything bafang or bosch based. I easily get 100 miles of range with this pack in ECO mode. The controller display is also compact and easy to use.
  • Front Chainring is extremely quiet
  • Brakes come with 180mm shimano made rotors which perform a ton better than anything else.
  • Suspension fork actually does something and is thru axle. 27.5/650b wheels also have a lot of comfortable tire options versus most 700c ebikes.
  • Getting replacement parts under warranty is pretty easy with Shimano. My local shop can get every part, including battery, within 2 days. etube cables are easy to replace if one becomes damaged.
  • Kickstand is very high quality.
What the e2.2 does better than the e2.1:
  • The even-lower-step design really makes a huge difference
  • Comes with color matched fenders that actually work.
Cons:
  • Stock derailleur is not exceptional. Upgrading to a Deore M592 makes a huge difference.
  • Stock stem is very sturdy but adjusting it is tough.
  • At this price it should come with a basic lever dropper post to further aid in mount/dismount
  • Rear wheel is QR (though this makes it compatible with a lot of trailers)
  • Depending on your local REI, you may have to tighten and realign everything a bunch of times. That said... this is a free service with every new bike purchase.
  • REI also raised the prices on these bikes after initial release. I got my e2.2 at a 2399 msrp and was able to get 10% dividend on it.

This is the bike although I happened to buy from a different seller on ali. There r two battery options through that seller. I get down votes when I post it, but I've got 500 miles on this bike and am in love. My father and gf have one as well. Incredibly powerful with a second motor, my dad uses it to drag whitetail deer out of the woods... You ain't doing that on the 2k beach cruiser bikes they advertise here. Snow, muck, rain, sand, intermediate mtb trails, casual downtown river trail riding, it does it all. Needs an immediate seat and peddle replacement, I'll probably upgrade brakes next year.
How long did it take get it?
