Your story here about following op's instructions is tempting me to be so sarcastic right now, but I'm trying to be a better person, so I'm just going to give you the thumbs up!
You do realize it is an OUTLET, right? I don't think I ever saw an outlet not having a sale.

It's not desperation...it's their business.

NB seems desperate to unload inventory.

A weekend ago they ran a 20% OFF sitewide sale for their outlet. Now they're upping that 30%.

Despite my concerns with NB's return policy and their sluggish customer service I went ahead and ordered a pair of shoes. The price was too low to ignore.

I noticed that the 30% discount was automatically applied at checkout. However, there was still a $9.95 shipping charge showing up in the order math. So I manually input the SLICKDEALS code in the promo field and that activated the additional free shipping offer.

How do these fit? I typically wear 9 in standard. Haven't had NB's in some time, but back then they were comfortable, and not too narrow.

I disagree. 12 days ago New Balance promoted a 20% OFF sale for their outlet website. That sale ended early last week. Now they're back at the trough with a 30% OFF sale on the very same items. Obviously, the first sale wasn't enticing enough to clear the stale inventory. When a company re-runs a sale a week later AND increases the discount percentage that's a clear sign of desperation.

I keep tabs on economic and business news and follow econometric data releases. In the past several weeks there's been an abrupt deterioration in consumer discretionary spending. The PMI New Order figures and global transoceanic transit rates also indicate that imports into the US from Asia have fallen dramatically.

i have the 860v12 they are wonderful. i may order another pair to use next. there wasn't much of an upgrade on the new v13s so for the discounted price of the v12 may just go with that.

Many companies subsist on sales and change the "percent off" on a weekly basis. Try going to Dell each week. ALWAYS a sale, but the savings differ each week. Is Dell acting in desperation? It's how these places do business -- Always a sale, but change the amount each week or it isn't considered a "sale" (it's normal price).

They don't have a 40% off coupon. You can find 40% off for final sale discounts though.

What really annoys me about new balance having this separate "outlet" site is that they do not carry over any reviews from the main site. Reviews talking about sizing and toe space, etc, are so damn important. They have the data and could easily transfer them to the outlet site but choose not to. And when they move a product to the outlet site they wipe it from the main site completely. I can't even find it on the wayback machine. but even having to try that is just ridiculous.

Extremely limited sizes for kids and womens especially. Seems like site is being punished with traffic. Using their filtering for sizes to browse is not working because sizes selling out fast so you filter to a size and click on the returned shoes and then you go to it will say sold out. Super screwy and makes hard to browse for sizes/shoes to buy.

Final sales are NOT included in the 30%.
