Front page, basically no comments. Sus.

But I do like having options when working on car stereo applications, so why not.

I bought a similar set for redoing wiring on my boat, thinking these would be ideal. They worked like expected with a heat gun, but the low temp solder didn't wet the wire and the connections pull apart with a good amount of force. I'm switching back to crimp connectors for anything that matters.

wouldn't it just be better to buy the shrink separately, solder it properly and then shrink it over

Then would you need to pull out the soldering iron, plug it in, wait 15 minutes for it to get up to temp, pull out the solder, pull out the flux, get water to wet the foam wipe, arrange the clamp to hold the parts together, 15 seconds to solder, then apply heat gun on the shrink to shrink it. Wait half an hour for the soldering iron and heat gun to cool completely, then put everything away.

VS

Apply heat gun for 15 seconds and DONE.

For mission critical stuff, sure, they need to be done properly. For normal Joe blows, this is more than sufficient for 99.9% of the stuff they need to solder.
