Will likely be worth $800 at bestbuy this fall. This year the X was the lowest phone worth $800. I'm guessing this year the 11 will be the lowest for $800 trade in
I would think it would be the XR and XS as they were between the X and the 11...but who knows. Maybe X, XR, and XS are all tier 2 trade-ins this fall...<shrug>

Instructions unclear.
I doubt OTD price is anywhere close to the advertised $49.99.

So in other words boost is garbage. You can get iPhones from metro that unlock after 6 months. There are many phone companies with unlimited everything for $25 a month so paying anything more than that is like throwing money in the trash. Welcome to boost where you pay more for less.
For Metro, can you pay for the first month only. Then stopped the service, then call Metro to unlock the phone 5 months after that?

You pay for 1st month. Put it in a drawer. Don't pay anymore. At the end of 6 months you do not call anybody. You pull the phone out of the drawer, turn it on and look for Unlock Device app in phone and Press Request Unlock and it will unlock itself.

Thanks. I went to 2 stores today. They both said "we are out of iphone 11" as soon as finished telling them what I need. They cannot even process paperworks and order from their corporation since it's a local deal varies from store to store.

Not sure if people had stocked it up for better trade-in value, but a service member like me when I need one, there was no available... LMAOlaugh out loud

Looks like Boost & Metro are teaming up to stop the "slickscum". That's the new word dealers are using.
They're not wrong. Slickdealers, especially reseller scum, are like cockroaches. At the same time, prepaid in general scapes the bottom of the barrel and (franchises) are owned by greaseball crooks. When you think about it that way, the merchant and the customers are perfect for each other.

What's the criteria for you the dealer to get your commission / get paid from Boost? In other words, when would this transaction be profitable for you? Some of us slickscummers aren't out to take every penny.
Basically Boost will reimburse us for the cost difference after a couple of weeks. We get a commission of usually $25 for the first month, second, and third month. Then another $25 after the sixth month.

For many dealers there are what are called residuals. This is an important part of our income. This is from all the customers that we have activated or upgraded. We may get .25 or maybe .75 or even 1.25 (just throwing numbers out) depending on their plan and how long they have been with Boost.

However, if less than almost 75% of the lines we activate don't maintain service for at least three months we lose ALL of the residuals for ALL of the customers for three months.

Also, having too low of a percentage can affect what phones we can purchase and how many we can get from the warehouse. If you can't get phones, you can't make sales. You can't stay open.

Then there are in some cases chargebacks. This is more when a dealer is probably doing something wrong or fraud. They will take back the reimbursements that they paid.

If there is fraud, I am in favor of cutting those dealers off. We have enough problems with fraudsters trying to get phones from us. We don't need bad dealers too.

Hopefully this explains well enough though it was brief.

Thanks for the info. Boost won't allow moving to cheaper plans after the 1st month may be a deal breaker for me

You can move to a lower plan. However, some plans are ONLY available at time of activation. Those plans also would not qualify for certain promotions on the phones.

One note about changing plans. In our new system, we can't change a family plan for the moment. That will be available in the future. So, make sure you choose wisely if it is a family plan.

Am I missing something? Isn't the phone locked to Boost for 12 months?
How can your "I'm the victim" sad story be possible?

The phone is locked to Boost for 12 months. That doesn't mean that the person has been paying monthly service for 12 months.

I explained in another reply a little bit of how we are paid, about people not maintaining service, and how that affects us as dealers. You can choose to believe whatever you want.

But I would rather not sell a phone than to sell to someone that is going to leave after a month.

It isn't that they don't want to have the phones.

For example, I ordered phones this morning for my stores. There were NO iPhone 11 available for me to order. We DO NOT get the phones directly from Boost. There are middlemen call Master Agents between us and Boost.

The second problem that we have is cash flow. Each iPhone 11 costs us $500 (plus the shipping on the orders and some BS fee they have per phone we sell). The iPhone 12 costs us $630

It takes about two weeks for us to be reimbursed for the devices. So, as you can hopefully see, most dealers who are not very large with many stores can't simply order 100 iPhones to have on hand for the promotions. We order what we can afford to get.

Yeah your sleazy company. At every turn you rip people off. Adding insurance. Up selling the higher tier plan. Charging extea add on fees. Theres a reason most people pay .ore not to go to your store.Hope they take the phone and run
