Apparently 9/10 people on Steam will disagree with you, 57% on Metacritic.
Remember kids...just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it is inherently bad. For example, I hate coffee ice cream and country music but I'm not screaming either is "GaRbAgE" when I see the subject come up.

Radiant Silvergun, the predecessor Ikaruga, is also available for $3.74 https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/...7LXXJ4964V
A better option than paying $200 to $300 for a used Sega Saturn version

Defunct is a garbage game. Can't recommend even if it is free

Good deal. Turns out I bought it previously. Hopefully it was good as this deal.
Why don't they ever make shooters (as we used to call them, I believe) that aren't ridiculously hard? I just want to play this style of game, but have it be fun and relaxing, not giving me arthritis and a heart attack.

I haven't fired the game up yet so haven't experienced the difficulty. It looks like the Nintendo Switch port does offer a way to ease the difficulty: https://www.nintendolife.com/revi...-silvergun

Where Story Mode differs fundamentally is that it offers no continues. Instead, you can save your game on death and start over with the weapon levels you left off with, as well as an increased number of lives. This masterstroke allows great players to beat the campaign on minimal attempts, and everyone else to enjoy the experience of levelling up, credit by credit until they're cutting through the game's early bosses like butter. Superbly conceived, it opens up Treasure's masterpiece to a much broader audience — one that may not have the patience to chain their way across its serpentine roadmap.
You might try Sine Mora for an easier experience: https://store.steampowered.com/ap...e_Mora_EX/
That link is for the updated "EX" version (whatever that is) but I've only played the original Sine Mora (also available on Xbox). Steam shows that I last played it in 2013 - I did beat it and it wasn't especially difficult (my logged playtime is about 3 hours). To give perspective, that was around the time I started getting back into gaming, and I only play a few games per year (usually with months long gaps) so I'm far from a pro

Oh thanks. I bought Sine Mora, but I was hesitant to try it because it seems like all these games are so hard. It looks awesome.
edit: haha! It turns out I already bought Ikaruga as well.

Wish it were as easy as PC, entire game can be deleted except for TS2.
