Wow. This is the lowest I've seen for this all in one gym unit. I have the same one, and if I remember correctly, paid more than $100 6-7 years ago.
Someone else will verify via price tracking. But I think it was more than $100+.
On YouTube, there's a kid hanging about 600 lbs on these and it's fine.
Doesn't feel like a risk i wanna take. Some things really are worth paying a little more for and peace of mind when I'm lifting hundreds of pounds is one of them.

Have you seen the videos of Chinese Olympic lifters squatting 600 lbs then racking on giant wooden blocks? Lol, anyways I've yet to read a single review complaining about the durability of these Gold's Gym/Weider XRS 20's. By all accounts, they're solid.

Compression strength of wood is likely far higher than the tube steel found in this device. For example, a quick googling tells me white pine has a compression strength of 4,800 PSI.
Bought this and returned it, was already chipping paint and gouged in places. Some of the pieces didn't line up well and the pre-drilled holes were slightly off. The lateral support on this is very sketchy, if fully loaded and with the wrong action I can see this failing horribly. When fully assembled, the unit I received, the vertical post were not vertical they both skewed to the right. Once I decided I was returning it, I put horizontal force on the vertical uprights and there was easily a 5° wobble laterally, definitely scary cheap piece of crap.
Also, when tightening the bolts the tubes were very thin metal and were easily crushing and I was not torquing the bolts that hard.

I know it's a really old thread, but in case anyone is looking at this thread in 2023 or later. Per the manual:
"10. The weight rack is designed to support a maximum user weight of 300 lbs. (136 kg) and a maximum total weight of 610 lbs. (277 kg). Do not use the weight rack with more than 310 lbs. (141 kg) of weight. Note: The weight rack does not include a barbell or weight plates."
Looks like if you're not hanging off of it, you should be able to put 600 lbs on the bar.
