thanks for the link to compare between v11 torque-drive and animal+. Another diff is included attachedment based on ebay-dyson, animal+ has "Up Top Adaptor" while torque-drive has "Mini Soft Dusting Brush" and "Stubborn Dirt brush". ebay-dyson today also drop another $20 on v11 animal+ to $269.99.

I want one with the trigger lock, but forgot which number has that. I think it's the 12 ?
After having the lock on my Tineco, I couldn't do without it. Holding the trigger gets painful when I use a family member's V8.
I'm in no rush as the $98 Tineco is doing good for now.

After seeing some people in this thread comment favorably on the eBay prices right now, can anyone please help me understand this or correct my errors? Why would someone buy the Motorhead version over the Allergy version? Also adding comparison to the Animal+ version which seems to me the best deal of all?

For the Animal, no returns with dyson and only 6 months warranty. V10 Allergy and Motorhead is pretty much the same and since its with ebay has 2 year warranty and 30 days return policy. I got the V8 fluffy for $179 as I have a smaller home with hardward floors so the fluffy comes with the soft roller.

My understanding matches yours. I chose the V10 Motorhead because it is slightly smaller/shorter/lighter. And based on two articles I read the Motörhead actually did a little better cleaning than the torque drive head.
The bin size is still larger than my V6 at 0.10 gal so I thought the smaller bin V10 vs the V10 animal is fine.

I have not heard of the Allstate 2 year warranty, is that automatically included?

Just a tip - if you separately buy the soft roller attachment (it is by far better for hard floors) for v10 Animal, buy the v11 soft roller model. It works on v10 vacuums (I am using this combination) and is superior than the v10 soft roller.

I rocked a dyson refurb for like 5 years, then when it died I bought a Samsung Jet75, its been sent back to be fixed 3 times. Now its out of warranty next break I'll be buying another Dyson.
