For those looking for a more powerful machine, Dell Refurbished restocks (lists) machines at 3pm EST. I took advantage of this deal last month and the machine I got is fantastic! It's faster than my new XPS laptop.

The 1660 super requires an 8 pin. I don't think this system has an 8 pin to supply power. Just make sure it's within specs of power rating when using one of those sata to 8 pin connectors. Pci bus supplies 75w. Sata I think only supplies 54w. So as long as it's well within the restraints of what's possible it might be fine. Just don't push above the 129w for that combo.

There is a GTX 1050 on zotacs refurbished site for 76$. Kinda meh but it's cheap and doesn't require a janky 8 pin to sata connector
The best board power only card right now can be had for $250-$300 used. It's the Rtx a2000 which has around rtx 3050 performance. The next upcoming board power card will be the Rtx 4000 sff ada, but it's new. We probably won't see those on the used market for a bit.

I think the best plan of attack (besides not buying a prebuilt proprietary PC) would be to buy a power supply to motherboard adapter. That way you could use any power supply.

The trouble is, that requires re drilling holes to mount a standard power supply into this case and that's a problem for 99% of people out there

There is a evga factory refurbished GTX 1660 super for 150$ on evga B stock site.

And you get 90 warranty. The zotac you only get 30 days with Amazon.

There's also a regular 1660 for 140$ on there as well
Which card did you get that worked with this chassis?
There's 3 1660 Super on their site?
Thanks for the info.

Ah okay, I haven't messed with a dell prebuilt in a long while. I had to look up the model on eBay to get some rear pics.

Looks like you're stuck with the OEM Mobo because you can't swap out the I/O shield unless you Dremel one yourself, not worth it. I'm not certain what form factor that PSU is maybe server? Looks like that gets a little hairy.

That was the exact machine I got last night. Did the 512GB SSD come with SATA or PCIe NVMe interface? Thanks.
