I bought 2 of these (single monitor model). They last a while then when I try to adjust them, they failed to hold monitor any more. Contacted them, make video showing how they won't hold monitor. No response. If you buy this brand then just know that there will be no customer service.

Hypothetically someone could buy a replacement set and return the no longer working set. Some might argue it's a good way to encourage vendors to make reliable products

I have this mount. If your desk is up against a wall, this mount isn't articulate enough to be able to hold both monitors side by side flush against the wall. The monitors will have to be pushed forward a bit because of the way the elbows touch the wall. If I were to do it again, I'd buy two single monitor mounts.

Usually these types of arms have a screw per arm, which tightens the spring, which helps with holdong the monitor again. Not sure if you already tried that.

One thing to look for is if the little VESA plate, that mounts to your monitor has ANY plastic parts. Some models do have it (like a plastic clip, that allows you to unclip/clip the monitor instead of unscrewing to support easier mount/unmount). That plastic part is not sturdy and has small gaps which allow your monitors to shake which I really hate. OP images does seem to not have that. Just sharing what to look for if you like stable screens.

I got this a couple days ago, arriving today: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z7ZM8CJ

$53.99 - $10 coupon on the page - 5% coupon that was available before: Total came out $41.29 + tax.

I'm not sure if the max limit size 27 vs 32 inches makes a big difference. I see $10 coupon is still there.

So I bought a single monitor unit much like this a couple of years ago for around $25-$30, and it's ok, but the movement isn't smooth and it requires enough force to move it that it often overshoots the mark and I have to move it back a bit and then back and forth several times till it's right where I want it to be. At this price range you can't really expect anything better and it's held up pretty well and I'm more than happy with it for the price I paid.

I'm wondering, though, how much would one have to spend to get a single 27-34" monitor arm like this one but smooth movement, which I assumes would require hydraulics, which wouldn't leak if used properly, and either locks into place or resist movement from light accidental taps, and can anyone recommend any? I'm talking one that can move in up to 6 dimensions, straight and rotationally. I.e. up/down, right/left, front/back, rotate CW/CCW, rotate up/down, rotate right/left.

I have gone through a bunch of cheaper monitor arms from Amazon over the years, and they mostly were OK, although when having monitors next to each other, even being a mm off drives me crazy, and yeah most of these will have the overshoot problem unless the tensions/allen screws are adjusted JUST RIGHT (maybe). After my last one of these broke (same brand/company, different model, the pivot holding the vesa mounting plate that allows for tilt just gave up and the monitor kept tilting all the way down), I bit the bullet and got an ergotron (over $400 for the one I needed), and WOW, they are amazing, micro adjustments are very easy, this thing is SOLID, yet looks nice, and adjusting my monitors PERFECTLY takes less than a minute and is easy! But still... $400!!! Big Grin.

The best single arm that I know of is the Amazon clone of an ergotron arm, still not cheap although you can save a bit on used if you wanna chance it... I have had one in my cart for quite a few months... and while they used to go on sale... it has been a while: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B00MIBN16O

Thanks. Doesn't look like it has fluid damping, though. Does the Ergotron have that, and if not how does it make for smooth movements and accurate fine-tuning adjustments that don't overshoot?

Btw the one I have that's probably comparable to one of the cheaper ones you have is this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AI2YGK4

I like it, especially for what I paid for it, and it does the job, but I hate repositioning the monitor when I need to, for the reasons given.

Yup, one of the ones I am still using is a HUANUO that looks almost exactly like the one you linked(that I picked up from an SD post of course), and it has been great for the money, several years of productive use, but yeah micro adjustment is the icky part. The one that broke for me was another HUANUO from another SD post a while back (this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J1CSCD , in Aug 2021 for $28 shipped!!), and it worked great for a year and a half or so and fit my use case perfectly, but adjustment on this one was TERRIBLE. For the money tho, I don't regret the purchase.

I needed that tall arm, and the version I got for $28 had both arms on the same mounting point that attached to the base, so every time I would adjust one of the monitors, the other one would move OUT of adjustment. Then the pivot broke, and my $200 webcam that was on top of the monitor broke when the monitor fell (got lucky, could have been way worse and lost a $1000 monitor or more). Because of the risk, and that this is my station for work, I bit the bullet and bought the $450 Ergotron LX dual arm with tall pole... even used on ebay these things go for over $400 :/. It isn't hydraulic either I don't think (I dunno), but the adjustment smoothness and solidity is AMAZING. If it weren't for needing the tall pole with independent arms option, the options broaden A LOT, like this post here looks great for the $.

The Amazon Basics arm I posted is supposed to be an exact replica of the Ergo single arm LX (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J1CSCD), so basically it is the same system as mine (the HX ones are the heftier ones, maybe they are hydraulic? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), assuming that is all true then hydraulic or not, it should be a different world better. I still have my HUANUO single arm that I use as my laptop holder to the left of the two monitors that the Ergo holds... and in the near future i do plan on getting one of these Amazon ones so that I can be more authoritative from personal experience... worst case I just send it back and get a real Ergotron. I am hoping that the Amazon version of the ergo LX feels just like my real LX, while saving me ~$100...

Whelp, I was going back and forth on picking this up, and then getting a second cheaper one for a laptop stand for a second work station that I am setting up right now. The problem is(was) that this work station is against a wall, and these particular designs suck if you like your monitor to be as far back on the desk as possible AND you are against a wall... it pretty much won't work. BUT THEN, this other deal was posted, PERFECT, and my order already shipped and will be here in a couple of hours. This free same day stuff is FIRE: https://slickdeals.net/f/16591901-huanuo-adjustable-single-monitor-desk-mount-13-to-27-w-laptop-tray-24-amazon

All of these gas piston monitor arms have a screw in them that you have to tighten periodically with an allen wrench, otherwise the arms won't support a monitor. I suspect you just needed to tighten yours. Having said that, the fact that the seller didn't just respond to you and tell you that is pretty crappy.
