Not a bad deal! FWIW: Google is ending support to their Nest Secure and moving to ADT. Not to down play this deal but because of the recent end of service and the difference in features from nest to google, I'm starting to sell off all of my Nest stuff. Strictly personal opinion, I don't see a benefit investing into Nest products for the foreseeable future and currently looking into other options.

FYI this doesn't come with a backplate (the rectangular plastic plate), so it may not retrofit easily with older thermostats. I've tried both this and the Learning Thermostat and really prefer the Learning Thermostat (build quality, functionality, features, and also runs on legacy Nest app, etc.)

The Google Home app is getting better with the Public Preview, but it's still not as good as the old Nest app.
