Pros: Blazing fast! I'm coming from a standard SATA III SSD, and so this was a huge performance upgrade for me! Windows boots much quicker over the SATA III SSD, games load faster, transferring files in a blink, programs start quicker, and editing videos is now lightning quicker! List goes on!!
Cons: The drive is DRAM-less -- which is what keeps the cost down. Google: "pros and cons of DRAM-less SSD" for an idea. It uses HMB (Host Memory Buffer) -- which is basically part of your system memory (as opposed to having a native DRAM chip built onto the drive). Not a noticeable performance hit, but still..
Overall Review: Despite being DRAM-less, it still recieves a 5/5!

The Crucial P5 with free heatsink is still $120 which is a better general choice at Best Buy. But this drive is more power efficient though and probably a better choice for a laptop unless you plan on moving 100 GB files around all the time.
I bought an sn850x 2tb for this price. it was a good SD.
Great information. Very helpful to this thread. What other different drives have you bought in your life and how much were they when you bought them and how have they been for you? Could you give us an itemized list? Everyone that wants to buy this SN770 really needs to know about your history with other drives please. Thank you so much!!
As something related to the OP. Several drives have been or are still available lately.
- Crucials are good but less reliable
- WD most reliable of the bunch but may be slightly slower in some tests
- Intels are top of the bunch but if you can catch the 990 deals it's probably the best buy around now
All of these you really will not notice much difference in real world usage.
My daily drivers are the WD and Intel. I have the Crucial as a less essential Plex drive. An older Crucial died one before. WD never have failed me yet.
Source: I am on SD too much, read lots of reviews, and also have each of these drives!

I have this exact drive in my PS5 I have no complaints. Paid 101 for it with 15% off at adorama. I just did the spin the wheel for a discount ad that popped up.

Oh nice. I thought minimum was 5500, but glad to hear it works. Can you play off the drive or only store and transfer?

Lol who hurt you? Also, I think his was a valid comment for those who may want to wait for a better deal.

Minimum is 5500, but the only game that currently exists that will show performance issues is Ratchet and Clank since it's dependent on the SSD. Future games that are PS5 exclusive and rely on this for real time loading will have performance issues (this has already been proven). Always go with what Sony recommends for speeds, there's a reason for it.
