Decent price if you need what's in a set (if you don't need half the stuff in it, then obviously not valuable to you).

I've been switching more cookware over to Tramontina lately. Excellent build quality at a reasonable price. If you look at various reviews for SS cookware on the internet from various experts, they're pretty highly regarded for the pricepoint, especially for those who aren't willing to pay All Clad prices.

The mirror finish exterior is IMHO a little bit of a gimmick. If you actually use these for cooking they'll get some blemishes, especially on the bottom. One use on my stove and they're no longer virgins.

They heat rather evenly, they are really solidly built, handles don't get hot, lids are pretty solid, handles are easy to hold. They clean really nicely too. At worst a touch of barkeeper's friend will get them looking shiny.

Would I recommend a set? Only if you genuinely need enough items in the set vs buying alone. Would I recommend them as a brand? Yea, but don't just take my word for it, a fair number of review websites like Wirecutter and various chefs, folks on reddit all like them to. For the price point I don't think you can do any better.
I think almost every review out there shows that D3 is the preferred and recommended pans for price.

D5 is overkill marketing and the added layers slows heatup and adds more weight to the pans
Costco and Amazon had Henckels 10pc Tri-ply set for $99. is this better quality then Henckels?

Careful what seller you buy these from as knockoff ones are stamped Made in China. If the bottom does not say made in Brazil, it's a knockoff.

Literally, the 3rd photo on that Amazon listing is a SS pot being cleaned with the Scotch Brite SS pad.
And LITERALLY, that's the actual text from the company saying they don't recommend it. It will slightly scratch the surface of SS cookware, so why not just use a scouring sponge that works just fine and won't scratch your cookware?

The real question is, why in the world would you use them on nice ss pans in the first place? Reminds me of people who put nice knives in the dishwasher. There are plenty of products less abrasive that will do the job just fine. Just use something like this and reduce unnecessary wear on your pans. Like these..

I think you're getting confused with everyday cleaning vs deep cleaning of gunk on an infrequent basis. The latter was the original question posed.

The original question posed was only about changing color - which simple white vinegar will remove easily.

That's not true. People just want a cheaper product because of money but the thicker material helps prevent sticking and burning. I can't think of anyone who enjoys burning the outside of something only for it to be raw inside. Slower, more even distribution of heat makes them better quality and but this is still a good deal.

Can anyone comment on the noise level on induction? I have some Cuisinart chef's classic that are pretty noisy. I would love to upgrade to something quieter

America's Test Kitchen is one that regularly reviews these pans and does comparison and overall preference of their chefs.
