Sign ups are live. In the wallet app, select your Apple Card, go to the top right menu and hit Apple Cash, and change redemption to savings. Enter your social and you're done.

the 3, 2, 1 cashback seems really poor.
It's not bad. The main point is the card acts more like an app than a credit card. It's a unique experience. Verizon's Visa card is the same way.

To add, my use case is their "Virtual Card Number" that i find valuable for all ONLINE payment transactions to websites that aren't top tier legit.
Gotcha...only fans (of Apple) would know about this feature LMAO

So savings account is tied with an OS? If we don't upgrade iOS then we can't access the account? Lol
That's not too far off. You need Apple Pay to use it, and Apple Pay only works on certain versions of iOS.

Nowadays 4.15% is nothing fancy, right? Apple is not going out of business anytime soon, so I believe you can put >$250k with a peaceful mind. That's the the only benefit I can think of this new savings account.
Nonissue. FDIC insured.

Marcus raised their MM savings account to 3.9% today, I expect Ally will follow suit. So yes, Apple should be going up as rates do.

My suggestion, open an Apple account, link it to your Ally account for transfers and vice versa. Then you can move money back and forth to play the rates keeping at least the minimum to keep the other account active/open.
Although I have done that in the past among several HYS accounts, the sweet spot right now is settlement funds at Vanguard (and possibly others except Schwab who don't offer high-yield settlement funds). VMFXX is paying 4.76 (7-day yield) right now and has stayed high for several months now. Not to mention free of state/local tax.

For money market funds, you do have to pay local interests. Only for T-bill, you can avoid them.

Under "Daily Cash," I don't have the "Daily Cash Election" option. I wonder if it's because I'm still on iOS 16.3.1?
Yes, need iOS 16.4

Tried to set up, "Service Unavailable" Big Grin

But I am on public beta iOS 16.5.2, not sure if that is the reason for my problems ...

The maximum balance for the Apple Savings account is $250,000. So you can't put more than $250k in.

Source [goldmansachs.com] Scroll down to MAXIMUM DEPOSIT LIMITS section.

Hope that helps!

UFB rate now 4.7% (4.81% APY), but still one of the highest savings rates out there.
$5,000 min balance to avoid $10 monthly fee
Isn't that their money market offering… savings is still no min balance account with 4.81% APY?

You can open the apple credit card without a credit inquiry. I did it
That's incorrect. You can preapply (soft inquiry) and without a hard inquiry and they will tell you if they will likely approve you or not but when you actually apply it is a hard inquiry just like with any other credit card.
