Sign ups are live. In the wallet app, select your Apple Card, go to the top right menu and hit Apple Cash, and change redemption to savings. Enter your social and you're done.

The account is backed by Goldman Sachs - a bank.

I signed up earlier as well. The biggest issue was figured out how to sign up. They should have made a ncie "Click Here for this" button. I had to search through a couple sites for instructions.
Also, you need another bank in order to transfer $ in unless from an Apple Cash card it would seem. They need to give the account its own like "card" in the wallet app so you can access it easier. Since there is no place physical to deposit it would be nice if you could deposit checks from the wallet app.

Anyone going all in?

What iOS version are you on? You may have to be on 16.4 or higher
I can confirm that after updating my iOS to the 16.4.1 was ABLE to open the account. However, I was on the 16.4.0 and I was NOT able to see the offer.

I already have an Apple Card, so why are they asking for my social again? Do they do a credit pull to open the savings account?

I'm just curious, what card do you have that is better?
several cards do 2% cashback on everything with or without using apple pay.

3% back on apple purchases is kinda pointless. almost always cheaper to buy apple stuff from an authorized reseller.

It's not bad. The main point is the card acts more like an app than a credit card. It's a unique experience. Verizon's Visa card is the same way.
i guess that part is nice, but there are third party apps that kinda does the same thing. like Mint.
it's not as sleek or integrated but you can use other cards.

I have a handful of different cards that I use (Chase, BoA, Apple Card) and I usually choose the card that gives me the best rate for each situation. Sometimes the Apple Card wins out and sometimes one of the other cards wins, it all depends on the situation. My Chase Freedom unlimited only gives 1.5% on everywhere purchases for example.

Some cards are good for travel, some cards are good for restaurants, others for grocery etc. That's why people have multiple cards. I've never gotten 1% with the Apple Card, as I never use the physical titanium card. Most everything is Apple Pay these days.

As for the 3% for Apple purchases, you're right that there are usually better deals to be had when buying from third party stores, but again, it depends on the circumstances. There are times when buying directly from Apple can be beneficial for some people, like if somebody needs a special config, which is not usually stocked or sold by the third party retailers, or if somebody wants to buy an expensive item on the zero interest installment plan.
