Sign ups are live. In the wallet app, select your Apple Card, go to the top right menu and hit Apple Cash, and change redemption to savings. Enter your social and you're done.

The account is backed by Goldman Sachs - a bank.

UFB Direct offers 5.02% interest on their savings account, and they seem to increase it every couple/few months to keep up with current rates.
Seems it is 4.81% now on the website. I see Bankrate has not updated it.

If you get a request to open as "denied" just try again. No idea why it denied the first time and they don't say but 2nd time worked fine. I already had an apple card so it wasn't a timing thing with that. Maybe entered my SSN in wrong but once you're off that screen you can't confirm that detail.

I have a handful of different cards that I use (Chase, BoA, Apple Card) and I usually choose the card that gives me the best rate for each situation. Sometimes the Apple Card wins out and sometimes one of the other cards wins, it all depends on the situation. My Chase Freedom unlimited only gives 1.5% on everywhere purchases for example.

Some cards are good for travel, some cards are good for restaurants, others for grocery etc. That's why people have multiple cards. I've never gotten 1% with the Apple Card, as I never use the physical titanium card. Most everything is Apple Pay these days.

As for the 3% for Apple purchases, you're right that there are usually better deals to be had when buying from third party stores, but again, it depends on the circumstances. There are times when buying directly from Apple can be beneficial for some people, like if somebody needs a special config, which is not usually stocked or sold by the third party retailers, or if somebody wants to buy an expensive item on the zero interest installment plan.
Personally, I use the boa cards that does 2.625% on everything and the 5.25% on categories.
They pretty much cover everything.

Even when buying directly from Apple, using Apple gift cards is a better since there are usually deals from Target and Best Buy for GCs. I bought a Mac Mini and iPhone SE directly from Apple this year, but used Apple GCs for both orders.

HAHA! that is what I did LOL. I just got accepted for 15k on my apple card. They use TransUnion BTW. If you lock it before accepting the offer you won't get the Hard pull. HOWEVER, now that I have the card I DON'T see the option to open the saving account like other peoples have reported. Anyone knows why? Thanks!
So signup . Pause transunion then accept apples offer .

UFB rate now 4.7% (4.81% APY), but still one of the highest savings rates out there.
$5,000 min balance to avoid $10 monthly fee
UFB is 5.02. I have it.

Wouldn't Wells Fargo Active Cash Card (has $200 welcome bonus offer with 2% cashback) be better than Synchrony Premier?

FYI, REQUIRES iOS 16.4.1 on iPhone. The option doesn't show on 16.3.1...
