I was declined for the Apple Card and not sure why. My credit is excellent, 825+, 6 figure income, very low debt, around 1% credit utilization, so I have no idea why I was declined .
Multiple closed or opened credit cards . OR error in processing .

UFB Direct offers 5.02% interest on their savings account, and they seem to increase it every couple/few months to keep up with current rates.
Website? And which bank is UFB?

There are better APR why use this
Exactly...

But for the low information (or caring) Apple user or those who finally realize that the sub 1% or less interest that their vacation money was earning, it seems simple to get them to move their money. A LOT of people don't usually have enough money to care how much interest they're earning on their cash and there is a LOT of money in the big mega banks paying nothing for interest. The big banks (ex. Chase, BOA, etc.) won't care - this will be a rounding error in the loss of deposits for them. This may put a little hurt though on the regional banks deposits.

For those, like you and I, who realize we can make more in interest at 10+ other different FDIC insured institutions with a little research, this is not a deal for us. In addition, there are still too many little unknown details with this Apple account that need to be addressed. Even DOC is still vetting this out.

This may eventually be a boon for those of use who do watch & chase interest rates. If Apple makes enough of a splash with these rates, it may drive other banks/fintech's to raise rates past 5, or even 6%, by summer time. (hoping this is the case)

It's also not worth the hard pull - especially for those who watch/track their 5/24 credit report inquiries, chasing valuable Chase Credit Card bonus signups.

This thread will get as many downvotes as your post - but your post was valid.

This or another High yield account is good to park your emergency fund. Whatever you don't need for 3-5 years should be invested.

You know that you have to pay income tax beyond 16k gift money. So save some for tax next year.
I am not an accountant, so check with a qualified personal.

Yes, if you are earning something lower at another bank...

In your case, you should do some research/watching and put your money to work to make the most for you. Research Doctor of Credit --> https://www.doctorofcredit.com/be...t-bonuses/ and find a particular institution that will earn you the most interest, some even have signup bonus's. There may be some hoops to jump through that will be easy to meet for you or there will be others that don't have as many hoops (ex. direct deposit, etc.).

Bottom line, research and you may find something that will fit your situation and provide you more money. Otherwise, this offer seems simple enough for those who don't want to do the research and just want to earn more than the less than 1% in interest that they're earning at other institutions. (I'm looking at you big banks paying nothing - BOA, Chase, etc...)
