To your other concern, I wouldn't worry about the access. The money is insured up to 250k by Goldman Sachs, and Apple Pay / Wallet is among the top for security.
So with 100k invested you could be earning $11-12k on it per year (more in future years due to compounding interest) compared to a few hundred in your local bank. BUT that depends on the purposes for the money. If you need it soon for a house, college, or other large expense, then a HY savings account can be a wise & safe place to park it without being opened up to short-term market loss.
Again, highly recommended you pull in a financial pro to be on your own personal "board of directors" for this. They can also advise on potential gift tax you could owe and other considerations you might not think of. I like the endorsed local advisors through Dave Ramsey's website, but there are other ways to find good people.
