Bought this 2-pack last time it was posted. Great batteries, but might not fit in some tools, particularly if you have a belt hook installed. They won't work on my HP hammer drill for instance because it has the belt hook.

They are also a bit in-the-way with my old (blue) 8" miter saw. It still works fine with the battery, it just can't pivot to the left without taking the battery out first. The battery hits the lever you pull up to unlock the pivot.

Works really well in tools that tend to drain batteries quickly, I use them with my fan, shop vac, etc. Just be aware that they are bigger in every dimension.

They are certainly wider than a 2 or 4AH (don't know about 6AH). That's why I can't fit them into my drill with the belt hook.

EDIT: Just measured a 9AH, 4Ah, and 2AH, all HP batteries.
The height of the 9AH is 3" (not including post or the platform between the clasps)
4AH is 2"
2AH is 1.25"

The width at the clasps is what also causes problems. It's almost 3.5" while the 2AH/4AH is right around 3" ... The width of the rest of the body is maybe an 1/8" bigger on the 9AH. 2/4AH being just under 3", the 9AH being just over 3"

All seem to be about 5.25" long, but the 9AH has a more solid bottom with no upward slant on the back. 2AH and 4AH seem to be exactly the same size and shape except the height.

I have one of these that I mostly use for the 6 gallon shop vac and outdoor tools.

It's nice to have and seems to let the vac run better than the 4AH HP batteries (next largest size I have).

If you use these high draw tools a lot, it is worth it. Also if you want really long runtime on something stationary like fans or lights. Don't get it for drills and other handheld tools and expect a more efficient use.

Anyone know if these are still using Japanese cells like the 6Ah batteries?

Every dimension? Like they are wider at the base or just longer from base to top of the stem?

Not quite every dimension, the insert that goes in the tool to provide contact is the same size as other AH batteries 😉

I'm not too familiar with Ryobi products, do these have low voltage cut off in them or is that dependent on the tool?

As far as major brands go, I think all failsafes are in the batteries themselves except for Dewalt. Ryobi is certainly in the battery.

Love the 9ah battery. I can mow my lawn, string trim, and blow off the driveway all on a single charge.

Copy on being able to use them in projects, like Power Wheels upgrades or electric bike conversions!
