Acer says 32GB max ram but I upgraded to Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MHz CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K32G48C40S5. Just an FYI, when you first swap out the ram, it took up to 5minutes with a black screen before the BIOS reconfigured and booted up the pc to Windows 11. I also added a 2nd M.2 drive. It was a Crucial P5 Plus 2TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 Gaming SSD and that worked great. I got the speeds the drive advertised. I saw another reviewer mention that an M.2 with chips on both sides of the M.2 would not fit. I believe they were correct because it was tough getting just one stick with chips on one side mounted in the 2nd M.2 slot.

While it does say refurb, it is practically new. It also comes with a 2yr warranty from Allstate. You do get a 30 day return but you pay return shipping.

I have this laptop. Bought refurb and it came looking like new.

Biggest con is the startup sound (you can turn it off in software and bios) and the fan noise even on balanced mode. I'm glad the fans work because cooling is good but it's also not something you'd want to use in a room with others. Press the turbo button and the jet engines fire into overdrive.

Supports 2 sticks of DDR5 and two NVMe gen 4 sticks. Be sure to check clearance on your NVMe sticks as it's kind of tight around the right slot. I believe the GPU is 'up to' 150w.

I paid around $1300 after tax back around Christmas time.

Have the same laptop and you're right about the fans. They ramp up like jet engines taking off. Great cooling for cpu and gpu. You can even set fan speeds if you want. Paid $1200 I think at Amazon. Great laptop for gaming.

One of the best laptops but honestly at this point just wait for a 4060 laptop at this price
Why you want an inferior Graphics card? Have you checked the reviews of RTX 4060 Mobile?

My biggest concern with open box and refurbished computers is always how the lid & Hinges were treated. That's the weakest link in every laptop I've owned and every one I've repaired.

Maybe this will put your mind, or anyone else's, at ease. Just over a week ago, I purchased the Acer Predator Helios 300 QHD laptop at Best Buy when it was $700 off. However, I then saw this deal on eBay and decided to purchase it at a cheaper price with a free 2-year warranty.

I still have the Best Buy laptop, since I am still within the return window. However, I have made some comparisons between the new laptop and this "refurbished" unit that I received from eBay.
I received my eBay laptop on Saturday from this deal, and it looks brand new. I opened up the bottom panel to install my second 2TB M.2 and 64GB RAM, and it looks immaculate inside. After reading about your concerns regarding the hinges, I quadruple-checked, and they move identically to the Best Buy laptop. So there are no issues there.

After bootup, if you go to the C:\Users folder, there should be a user that was created when Acer restored the system. Within that folder, go to the Desktop folder, and you can launch the RemovedApps.html file. It showed that my laptop was restored on December 28th. I am starting to think that these may have just been returned after the holidays. I also noticed that my eBay laptop's manufacture date was in July 2022, while the Best Buy laptop was from March 2022.

I looked over the entire screen and did not see any dead pixels. I even ran a CrystalDiskInfo scan on the M.2 drive, which reported only 950GB Total Host Reads and 1166GB Host writes. The Power On Count showed 41 power-ups and only 15 hours of usage. As a comparison, I had three times that disk read and writes, along with 42 hours of usage on the Best Buy laptop, after downloading all my games and testing it out.
If anyone has any questions, please let me know.

So far, I am extremely happy with this purchase and the savings I received.

Both Ram and M.2 were found on Slickdeals

I got the Crucial 64GB kit (2x32GB) from amazon:

I got the Crucial 2TB from amazon:

65GB Ram was $160
2TB M.2 was $120
Total $280

Mine arrived today. Also show Dec 28 2022 as last restored. Looks brand new. No fingerprints or any indication this was used and abused. Now the box was beat up when Fedex dropped it off, but laptop as snug in its bubble pack. I am happy with the purchase.

I'm going to the US in 3 months for vacation, should I get this already or should there be better deals coming in that time?

Though I won't have the option to return it and Acer has no international warranty.

Just got mine, on the hard drive is 77 power on, 22 on hours so. Seems solidly new. 656 gas reads so.
