Easy solution: Don't tell anyone you refill your Coleman cylinders.
The secret is to put it into the freezer before refilling, your 20 lb tank needs to be warm at the same time, 75-80 or higher. Once it drops below 75 take a break, let it warm up again.
Note: I do not recommend and do not support refilling cylinders.

haha i see someone else checked these, maybe after seeing the post on the disposable ones?
Just ordered up a set and will try them out soon! looking forward to them, as i use my 20lbs bbq ones on multiple items with the conversion hose and now will have 2 (DOT approved) refillables so i dont have to swap my hose around, and can run 2 items at once without using the disposables!
From the product description: PLEASE NOTE - These cylinders fill fastest & safest with our commercial Flame King refill adapter - not included but available with our refill kit!
FYI Flame King has 5lb tank which would be much easier to refill at station, and small enough to carry for picnic or car camping. You will need an adapter cable for use in small burners, but it won't bother much to bring together.
The ones I get from walmart are not refillable? Been refilling them for years, have dozen of them.
It's illegal to refill the disposable ones or transport one that has been refilled. You may be able to refill them but they aren't rated for it so if/when there is a accident it will be on you, the manufacture and worse your insurance wouldn't help you.

5 pounders are fantastic for many uses. I still use this size for lanterns and torches though.

I've tried refilling those and never gotten satisfactory results. Never really fill completely. If you watch the video on these Flame King bottles, they fill the same way my larger tanks do. I think it's definitely worth investing in.
Not to mention all of the warnings I've heard about refilling the disposable tanks. Not interested in that, or in wasting resources.

I was the one who posted on the other thread but they list for $16.99 at Menards each and then are $15.12 after rebate.
Went ahead and order this as well: https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King...CYRT&psc
Not the best price but cheaper than Walmart right now. We don't have a Menards where I live.

FYI - from the Coleman ones at walmart not that you care (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-All-Purpose-Propane-Gas-Cylinder-16oz/20923696) [walmart.com] : 4. Never refill this cylinder. Refilling may cause explosion. Federal law forbids transportation if refilled - penalty up to $500,000 fine and 5 years imprisonment (49 U.S.C. 5124).
