isn't there a standard outlet charger that is included when the vehicle is purchased?
No, Tesla no longer includes the mobile charger
You can buy it for about 230 dollars, I think.

How much does a Tesla battery cost to replace?
I asked the service dept and she said about $13000 to $20000.

Amazing how most of the tax comments here are incorrect but so certain. Your tax rebate doesn't matter. Your withholding doesn't matter. Look at line 11 on your tax return. It needs to be below $150k if your single or $300k if married filing jointly. If you qualify (most people), look at line 24. If it's less than $7500, it's now $0. If it's more than $7500, subtract $7500. Whatever tax you owe or are owed are adjusted accordingly. The vast majority of people will get the tax credit.
Honest question, if buying the car today, would it not be a tax credit for 2023 instead of 2022? e.g. there is still time this year to adjust and make sure you will owe at least $7500 on line 24.

Tax credits applies for the tax year your purchase the car in.

Unless it was damaged in an accident, it's very unlikely that the battery will need to be replaced due to normal aging.

Another way to look at it:

Gasoline car prices keep going up.
Gasoline prices keeps going up.
Lots of instability with gasoline supply.

EV car prices keep going down.
EV technology keeps getting better.
Government subsidies keep getting better.

Seems like EV is the way to go.
What about electricity prices? You didn't mention that.

Considering the US, we aren't building new power plants. We might be installing more solar and wind, but those aren't 24x7 reliable sources of power. It's arguable how cost effective those installations are as well.

So, what happens when demand increases (more EV's, namely) and supply isn't keeping up? Prices go up.

I know this personally, as I pay $0.36/kwh in CT. Why? Well, CT has basically little to no power generation. Yes there's a nuclear plant, that the greenies are trying to close, but beyond that not much. Our power generation is largely imported from other states and is generated via LNG (as is 40% of the power in the US [eia.gov]). Those that pay very little for power either have subsidy (gov't purposefully making it cheap) OR generally will have a more locally-sourced power generation with excess capacity - consider hydro overnight with excess generation, they basically give that away.

If you looked at a graph of what I pay for electricity, it's basically always a positive slope. Gas? It's all over the place. In the past 3 years I've paid from $1.20 to $4.30, right now hovering between $3 and $3.30 or so.

In fact, pulling up price charts, we're actually cheaper than we were 10 years ago (using general trend charts for my area [gasbuddy.com], not my own personal data), by about 10%. Electricity is more difficult to pull up as the bill is 2 parts - supply (generation) and delivery (distribution). Generation fluctuates, but distribution tends to always go up. The last excuse? updating the grid to account for damage, tropical storms, etc.

Think this is the exception to the rule. Seems other companies with EVs aren't really following suit, unless I've completely missed it.

Tesla also is run by a guy who doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit him, even if the main deception is that he's doing it for the greater good.

There must be more to the tax credit that is motivating him to lower these prices to allow more vehicles to qualify. He either has a backlog of cars he wants to unload to make financials look better for a specific quarter, or it's accomplishing something else that is about the financials & the stock price. There have to be hidden wins for Tesla in this other than selling cars at cost (or at a loss) just to increase market share.

I'm sure a non-biased Tesla fanatic who understands all of the ins & outs can fill us in…

Must just be going through the roof as Musk said Tesla's were appreciating assets. LMAO. Thanks for sharing.

My order of MYLR is scheduled for delivery tomorrow and this new price is 3k less from the date I placed order(ordered on 1/24), any idea Tesla could match the new price when I take it tomorrow.
You should have received an order update reflecting the lower price in your mail, I did, and I'm taking delivery 4/21 (a day before you).

to promote environmental protection, they should extend credit to everyone.
it's stupid as only richer people can afford expensive cars.
