OP Note: If you're on a tight budget, Walmart has their Value Series flooded Group 65 battery for $59.84 with free in-store pick-up (don't forget to bring your old battery to avoid a core charge). In spite of the super low price, these batteries are well reviewed and I've personally had good results with them. 650CCA on the Value Series Group 65. Link:

If you're looking for a deal on a Group H6/48 or H5/47 AGM, Amazon has just started selling Weize brand in these 2 sizes for $119.99 and $109.99 respectively with free shipping. Pretty amazing prices, and they have a 3 year warranty. I recently ordered the Weize H6/48 and it's doing a great job. Links:

This is a good deal for AGM batteries as pre-pandemic I paid $160 for this type of battery with a discount. I read somewhere that diesel engines create more vibration and which resonates more in the chassis and battery. As someone who as owned multiple Diesel Trucks (F250, Duramax ) for 25 years I found the AGM version is worth the extra cost... I would go through non-AGM 2 batteries every 3-4 years (diesel trucks use 2 batteries ) and when they went bad, the 2 batteries typically died within 1-2 months of each other so I wound up just replacing both at the same time. Switching to AGM helped in battery longevity as it has more plate insulation and is less likely to short out. My last set lasted at least 6 years. Just wondering where this is manufactured as US only has two battery manufacturers now (EastPenn and Exide ) . Lots of batteries in walmart now are made in China and I dont know their longevity track record.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The Chinese have been upping their game when it comes to quality, and have pretty much taken over the U.S. powersports battery market. As my earlier note indicates, they are now making inroads into the automotive battery market as well, which promises huge sales volume if they can do it right. Large battery sellers like Walmart have enjoyed fat profit margins for quite a few years, and now the direct importers are coming after them with much lower prices through Amazon, eBay, etc. As a consumer, it's good to see some compelling values in the AGM battery market again, which has been pretty rare for the last few years. I'm not happy to see our manufacturing jobs go overseas, but that trend will continue until America's manufacturing sector decides to be competitive on a global scale again. It can be done; Elon Musk is proof of that.

Amz says no returns, looks like a hassle if the warranty is needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED WARRANTY QUESTIONS

Where can I get my warranty honored if my part (e.g., battery) has gone bad?
Warranties are honored at the retailer/ location/ online retailer from which you purchased the part.

Can I still process a warranty claim if I no longer have my receipt?
Warranty claims cannot be processed without proof-of-purchase paperwork.

How can I get my warranty reimbursed if the retailer/ location/ online retailer I purchased my part (e.g., battery) is no longer open?
First, verify your part is within the warranty period using your purchaser's receipt. You will need to purchase a replacement part and contact the Customer Support Center. Ensure you have receipts for the original purchase and the replacement on hand for the claim. If approved, the reimbursement will cover the lower cost of the two parts.

I get your point, but my local GM dealer who will warranty this battery will also charge me $293 for it, almost double this deal price. So at 20 months I've broken even if the battery fails completely and I can't get it warranted. On a battery that on average lasts 5-6 years, I feel like I'm making a pretty good bet by saving $130 up front and taking my chances with the warranty. My last ACDelco AGM lasted 6.5+ years.

Don't feel bad. He's getting paid to do what they would charge him to do at a gym. People with physical labor jobs are generally healthier and more fit because of it.
