Appears to be similar to the Kobalt 40V sprayer at Lowe's, but comes with a poly wand and multiple tips instead of a stainless wand that users have reported problems out of.

The description shows spraying shurbs & trees. Is this spray method better than using a hose end applicator?

I think the hose end applicators have a very uneven product application. I would definitely avoid them and use a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer.

I need one to spray weed effectively on my 1 acre yard. About 30% off the MSRP I think is pretty good for this brand.
