PCIe Gen 3
QLC
No DRAM
800TBW

This has impressive performance given its hardware limitations. Large continuous file transfers are going to be an issue as the drive fills up because of the QLC and the lack of DRAM.

This would be good as a second drive for the average user. You could use this in place of a larger HDD as a secondary drive, especially if you motherboard has 2 NVMe slots.

Agreed, I'm using the 2TB version of this ( was on sale for $51 at bestbuy) as a main drive for my home/work laptop. It works decently, but it does have an issue of hitting 0 transfer speed and freezing the computer for several seconds during very heavy write duty task suck as installing a very large game such as GTA V and RDR 2. Besides this I haven't notice a difference from my prior mid-range nvme with dram. Probably better as as a secondary drive if you have the luxury of an extra nvme slot in your device.

There is also a setting in the cruical ssd app called "momentum cache" that suppose to use ram as cache to increase drive life and speed. It's good to use on device with a backup UPS such as laptop otherwise corruption might happen.

Momentum cache just delays the inevitable write slowdown by using system RAM as a bit of additional buffer on top of the drive's SLC buffer. Definitely don't want to use that without a UPS.

I had one of the P3 Plus drives die on me after a few hundred GB of writes. Probably semi defective flash. But it got me reading about QLC NAND and I will probably avoid that stuff for now. TLC flash was already pretty lame but QLC is something else.

Check to Temp's of the SSD to make sure it's not thermal throttling during intense writes.
