We use ours a lot. It's worth the money but not for someone using it very sporadically. Also, it's not lightweight. It's best to "park" it where it's used.

I know they use a ceramic on their standard barrel shaped air fry which I also loved and had before this one. It looks like the same material. But if this is something you're super concerned about, you should double check on their website.

I suspect it's because there are a lot of returns that haven't been used or used once and realization set in that they won't use it often enough. It's big and heavy and not the easiest thing to tuck away.

How usable is this for apartments where the stove vent doesn't actually pipe air outside? Too much smoke?

I have one and as long as you clean after use then you will have minimal smoke.

Can't decide if I need this. I have an outdoor gas grill but having something to grill more precisely would be nice!

I have a kamado grill, charcoal grill ($100) Homedepot, griddle gas.

I bought the other model that has a bigger pan and I've been going to the ninja 98% of the time now for the ease and quick cook time with probe.

Just a quick note on the steaks I pull it 10 degrees off from the preset time to account for carryover and it's come out perfectly for steaks

I got rid of my air fryer, and toaster oven. Once I realized I could make juicy burgers from frozen in 5-10 minutes without having to fire up and clean an entire grill, game changer. I might even get rid of some of my portable grills.
