Ring is a garbage without subscription. You have to view everything live.
It's 9.99

Unfortunately I don't. I dumped Ring and went with Eufy to avoid the subscription. As much as I have tried I have never been able to configure the Eufy to detect visitors as well as my old Ring Pro. The Eufy needs a person to stay in shot for maybe 5 seconds before it registers them. This means it misses quite a few of my deliveries.
I am using eufy+blueiris and human/face detection works very well.

I've had a Skybell since before Ring was a thing. Still works great and no subscription fee.

Don't care, company computer
I can't believe people still get company computers they can install ish on... But that is why some companies get malware. Employees do not give a fuzz. My end users are on locked out. Use your on mess.

So BlueIris is doing the work, not Eufy. Figures.

I own the eufy doorbell the battery addition only and I don't have this issue. Only thing I don't like about is the slow charge. I have it on "human only" and sensitivity 4.

Does your front door have a long approach?

Between the camera spotting and notification is only few seconds.
Is your doorbell far away from Wi-Fi router??

No. No recordings but you will get motion detection and chime alerts if a person presses the button.
So you get motion detection if the intruder presses the button?

It's for the front door not the shower room, I don't care if the Chinese gov sees my neighbor's dog or my license plate.
This is a short sighted comment. It goes to a database that collects not just your image but everybody's image including people who the Chinese people want to identify - note Chinese police stations in America.

If you've read anything recently, it should be of note that China is not looking to be friends with the West or the USA.

That only works if you always use the front door only for going in and out. At a home like mine, with multiple people and using a combination of garage and front door entry/exit, any tracking attempt by using a doorbell cam is an exercise in futility. I'd be more worried about the device being used as a gateway into my network where real tracking and hacking can commence.
don't most people IoT on a guest network to keep it separate from your home network? or am i the only one that does it?

You think *most* people use a separate/isolated LAN for their IoTs? You think *most* people even have a clue what IoT even is? I've worked in IT over 25 years and ignoring the general population, I would say *most* in IT don't even do that (to their home networks). By a long shot. Not that everyone working in IT is the brightest, but most are at least a little more tech savvy than the average layperson.

I believe this wont work with a regular chime. Need a separate one you plug in or it notifies via app.
This will work with the power kit, Ring has a listing of compatible chimes that are for both mechanical and digital, the power kit gets wired into the chime from trans to front or rear if you want both front and back to ring then you need two kits, if it's a digital chime then the diode needs to be used.

I'm happier with the Chinese spying on me rather than my own government. One is much more likely to give me grief than the other.
