Please note the OP's product description is wrong; when you go to the Adorama page, it shows 14cGPU This is the 'standard' 14" MBP 2021 but with a 1TB SSD upgrade.

I have a top specced 2016 MBP that was 3k, and apple has decided to stop providing macOS upgrades for it, despite the fact that it has 4x the amount of ram than the base MBA. I know the M1 CPU beats the Intel, but it's still 100% capable of running Ventura. It's pretty sad that I only got 5 major macOS versions on this still capable hardware. This is literally the only reason I am looking to upgrade.

Is there any advantage with the M2 (I've read that the improvements are minimal, and for what I'll use this for, I doubt I will need the extra power anyways)?
If Apple ever updates the OS, would I be able to update or would it be available only the newest models and I would have to pay to update this laptop because it's older hardware?
The $800 Macbook Air M1 3lb and $400 Windows Swift i5 /$500 Elitebook i5. Do the same general web task for 50-75% off.
Macbooks will get 16hr battery life, 50% better battery performance than 10 hr Windows laptop
$1000 base m2 is terrible compared to $800 m1 8gb/16gb and this fully loaded $1600 m1 pro with 16gb.
